    Is KH1 the series favorite for anyone else?

    Maybe it's just nostalgia from when I first played it as a kid, but I just find the first game to be by far the most enjoyable of the series. Sure, the subsequent games *greatly* improved combat, but I just liked the plot (simple as it was), music, and the worlds the best in KH1.

    I have beaten KH1 numerous times, but I've only beaten KH2 twice and KH3 once. Each time I make sure to do all the side stuff too in KH1. Only thing I didn't do in my latest playthrough was the full synthesis table, simply because KH1FM added so many new enemies that are completely obnoxious to farm. Sniperwilds can fuck right off. :-)

    Does Kingdom Hearts II Pick Up?

    Hello!

    I am a Kingdom Hearts newbie (going through for my first time), and I played Kingdom Hearts and loved it!! Then I played Chain of Memories and despite the mixed reviews, I loved that game too. But then I played Kingdom Hearts II and I am finding it VERY hard to get into. I actually enjoyed the opening with Roxas, but as soon as it got back into the Sora parts, I fell out. I did Hollow Bastion, Land of the Dragons, and just started the Beast'S Castle, and I am NOT enjoying it. Does it pick up in any way (gameplay, story)?

    Also, PLEASE no spoilers of any kind.

    [Discussion] Am I the only one who's always found it weird that for a character named "Aqua", she doesn't really have any water abilities?

    This has always bothered me ever since I played the original Birth by Sleep, but I can't be the only one who's always found it weird that for a character named "Aqua", she doesn't really have much to do with water.

    She has no exclusive abilities that use water. She doesn't use any water magic of any kind (hell, there's not even a water element in BBS). None of her keyblades have water on them. She gets no shotlocks that use water. I mean she has blue hair and her outfit looks a little like a jellyfish I guess? There's also that one boss in III where she walks on water but you're doing that too. And that's kinda it.

    I figured maybe they thought it was just a cool sounding name that wouldn't have much bearing on her abilities. But then you also have characters like Terra who get a lot of earth abilities and exclusive magic. In cutscenes he's always breaking the ground and stuff. That name is kind of perfect for him, but by that logic I'd think a character named Aqua would have water abilities too but that's really not the case.

    In the context of Kingdom Hearts she's mostly a traditional Black Mage. She could have been named after any element honestly and it probably wouldn't have made that big of a difference.

    During the prologue:

    Terra: "Hey, we're gonna head back."

    Ven: "Yeah, Me too!"

    During the epilogue:

    Young Riku: "Hey, I'm gonna head back."

    Young Sora: "Yeah, me too!

    Like honestly that's the most subtle callback of dialogue in kingdom hearts. I just caught it when playing the prologue again.

    Any songs that you are disappointed at MoM for not having?

    Melody of memory has 150 songs in it, but not every kingdom hearts song made it. I was disappointed by the UX Darkness theme not making it. What about y'all?
