    Breaking BBS: An Experiment

    So I love Birth by Sleep. It's my second favorite bc of its story and accessible gameplay. It's great. However, I can acknowledge its mechanics are very easy to abuse. Actually, I relish that fact. Everytime I start a new game, I try to do as much as possible, including melding commands, abilities, mirage arena, etc. You can get so much done without even progressing to your second Disney world. The issue is this takes a lot of time, but I really dont mind bc I end up speeding through the rest of the game after I'm done.

    On my most recent playthrough, I went all out. Here's a list of things you can accomplish as Terra after beating Enchanted Dominion. Note there are no other save files, so no data from Ventus or Aqua's stories have been transferred here. This means there's no Rumble Racing or Command Boards outside of the Keyblad Board in the MA. Certain MA fights are also excluded. These points will be pretty simple, with special explanations if needed. Ok, here we go:

    1.) Obtained every attack command.

    2.) Obtained every magic command except Esuna, which cannot be melded but can be bought in Radiant Garden .

    3.) Max out every ability. Now you might be wondering how I got this when Abounding Crystals aren't dropped by enemies or available to purchase at the Mirage Arena. Well I found out by chance when I melded Mega Flare with no materials and got EXP Chance, an Abounding Ability. Ability distribution is random if no crystal is used, so I manipulated this to my advantage my saving, melding without a crystal, and loading the game again and again until I got the Abounding Abilities.

    4.) Got every Finish move except the ones that requires the currently unavailable Fire and Thunder Command Styles.

    5.) Maxed out the Ventus, Aqua, and Maleficient D-Links. Their finishing moves contribute to Hit Counts under Game Records.

    6.) Got to Mirage Arena Level 19. Matches such as the Castle of Dreams fight, Trinity Armor fight, and Ice Colossus fight are unavailable, so my levels consist of winning 9 command board games, getting 9999 total medals, and beating every available match up to and including Copycat Crisis. You fight Iron Imprisoners 1-3, Wheelmaster, and Mimic Master, as well as the two munny-related fights.

    7.) Maxed out 4 Shotlocks, including your starter Sonic Shadow, Ragnarok (LoD Command Board), Bio Barrage and Lightning Ray (last two can be synthesized). Contributes to Hit Counts.

    8.) Obtained the Darkgnaw Keyblade. This is added to your starter and Fairy Stars after beating Mimic Master for the first time. This is a useful keyblade for the first half of the game, as it outpowers other weapons with its level 5 strength.

    9.) Got every Treasure from LoD and ED.

    10.) Got every available sticker. This includes the one in ED's royal court, where you'd assume you need Air Slide, which is unavailable at this point. Aerial Slamming a Bruiser right under it is just as effective.

    11.) Obtained every meldable action command except Ice Slide (need Air Slide) and Payback Fang (need Counter Hammer). Everything else is either obtained through story (i.e Sonic Impact and High Jump) or not yet available (i.e Focus Block on the Royal Board after completing Caste of Dreams).

    12.) Some Report stuff real quick. Story and Characters is self-explanatory. Just LoD and ED stuff. You also get Xehanort Report 5 from beating Dead Ringer in the MA. The real standout is the Unversed category. Every mob-fight Unversed (I assume?) can be found in the MA. The special ED Unvested, Wheelmaster, Mimic Master and the Iron Imprisoners 1-3 are also counted. Story bosses and Iron Imprisoner 4 are excluded. In short, that's basically 90% of your enemy files done. Is this arbitrary as hell? Yes. Is it mildly interesting? I would also say yes.

    13.) Got to level 42, endgame level.

    Stopping at 13 for obvious reasons. I also got all available Friendship Commands and Items but that's pretty insignificant. This is all the meaningful stuff I got done ahead of time. I've advanced as far as the game would allow me to (unless you count getting to level 99 but cmon, this is BBS) at just under 34 hours. Time consuming but I made to sure to multi-task on other important matters so I wouldn't be wholly devoting my time to the Command Board.

    So, yeah. This is everything you can accomplish before setting foot in Dward Woodlands or Castle of Dreams as Terta. This nerfs tf out of Critical Mode but again, I like over-preparing stuff. Getting stuff done this early is a fun challenge in and of itself. The payoff being an invincible supersoldier is really rewarding.

    I BEAT THE SECRET BOSS!!! (KH3 Spoilers)

    After putting it off for months now, I finally worked up the nerve to finally fight Yozora. After watching Everglow's Yozora guide, I faced off against Yozora, armed with nothing but four Elixirs and four Mega Potions.

    The battle was fierce, I couldn't count how many times I died, and I burned through all my items,but I eventually managed to get him down to his last health bar. I myself was down to my last bit of HP, but I withstood his attack and landed the finishing blow! That's right: I managed to beat the toughest, hardest, most unfair boss in the KH franchise!

    So, now that I've beaten both Yozora and the data fights, I guess the only thing left to do now is beat the game on Critical Mode and get the Oblivion Keyblade.
