    A thought I had about the final boss of KH 1

    I always thought "Ansem" turning into a giant boat/spaceship was kind of random and out of nowhere, never really gave it much thought beyond that until finishing a playthrough the other day.

    This is a giant reach but I think there might be some actual logic to him taking that form, when looking purely at the story as we knew it in the first game.

    While he is the final boss, the story has put a focus on Sora and Riku's rivalry which seemingly ends at Hollow Bastion. Ansem is still using Riku's body at the end of 1 if I understand correctly. Riku had a giant chip on his shoulder the whole game and for everything Sora gained, Riku gained an equivalent through darkness.

    Sora gains the keyblade and its power, Riku gains the Soul Eater and dark power. Sora gains friends and allies, Riku gains dark collaborators and command of the Heartless. Sora gains a ship to travel to different worlds, Riku gains Corridors of Darkness.

    When we come to the endgame Ansem starts contributing to Riku's "growth" to match Sora. Sora gains his signature power of friendship and Ansem possesses Riku, giving him a keyblade.

    The darkness seemingly gives Riku everything he wanted but at a great cost. It took him off the islands, it gave him the power to match his rival, it helped him save Kairi.

    My theory is that Ansem turning into a boat represents a perversion of Riku's original desire to build the raft and see other worlds. Riku desperately wanted a vessel to see new worlds and now the darkness has given him that by the twisted logic Ansem uses. The darkness has warped his body into a twisted manifestation of what he longed for so desperately.

    As I said it's a giant stretch but I'd like to think there was some logic or intended symbolism behind that form rather than "FF stand in villain needs a One Winged Angel form and Nomura was really into boats that week".

    TLDR: Ansem turned into a vessel as a perversion of Riku's original desire to build one and leave the islands. What do you guys think?

    ok so I am at the roxas fight and I am trying to learn the reflect and dodge roll strategy but it's giving me an insanely difficult time, I need a good spot where I can grind EXP before I try and fight Roxas again for the 500th time, only leave a tip or trick IF you have a good EXP spot, help needed immediately!!! I really don't wanna give up on this amazing game :).
