    Dive to the Heart

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 01:14 PM PDT

One of my favourite headcanons is that the Heartless bosses you fight in KH2 are the Heartless of the Orgranization members.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 02:56 PM PDT

I've been watching Doug Walker play Kingdom Hearts and watching some of the boss fights just highlights how thematically similar some of the Heartless bosses are to the Org members. I just think it would be a waste if the Heartless of the Organization members turned out to be basic Heartless we just killed at some point but can't even remember.

Xemnas - Ansem (This one is easy, it's pretty much spelled out)

    Vexen - Blizzard Lord

    Lexaeus - Groundshaker

Zexion - Illuminator (I guess, I mean Zexion does work with illusions)

Saix - Dark Thorn (I mean it is kind of wolfish in appearance and kind of a berserker fighter)

    Axel - Volcanic Lord

Marluxia - Grim Reaper Heartless maybe?

    Larxene - Storm Rider

Roxas - Sora (in a sense)

I dont know, is it just me or are the jumping physics on the 100 acre wood book wierd? Jumping from one end of the book gives me a high jump and the other gives me a short jump.

    [Theory] Union X Player's Reincarnation

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 10:12 AM PDT

I've seen some discussion and what seems to be outright confirmation that Player's heart at the end of Union X eventually dissolves into Xehanort. Evidence is that after Chirithy explains what is going to happen to the Dandelions and the options for what happens to Player, we get flashes of Xehanort being born, taken to Destiny Islands, and growing up on the islands. Pretty solid evidence, but there could be another explanation or two.

My first theory is that Player actually becomes Sora. There isn't a lot of evidence for this, but there are a couple of pieces that fit with this:

    • Sora, without training, being bequeathed a keyblade, or being a Princess of Heart, is able to wield a keyblade
    • Sora in KHIII is able to Link with Wreck-It Ralph, despite never once meeting him.

So first, Sora's ability to wield the Kingdom Key right away. While I am sure Nomura did not have Keyblade wielding mechanics completely figured out in KH1, he did have them set in stone by BBS, which is why we see Terra perform the ceremony with Riku and we see Kairi interact with Aqua (though I think Kairi's ability to wield a Keyblade comes from her position as a Princess of Heart as well as touching Aqua's Keyblade, not just touching the Keyblade). BBS (and to a lesser extent Dream Drop) cemented that you either need specific training to wield and summon a Keyblade or be part of a Keyblade inheritance ceremony. BBS should have been the moment to establish Sora being a part of an inheritance ceremony, but he isn't. The explanation we've assumed thus far is that Sora is able to wield the Kingdom Key in KH1 because he houses Ven's heart, but it would also make sense if Player's heart in Union X melted into Sora's heart.

Second, and the more compelling puzzle piece, is the Wreck-It Ralph Link in KHIII. Links are different from Summons in the previous games because rather than being people who lost their worlds but had the willpower to continue on OR magical characters that Sora meets along his journey, Links are specifically stated to be manifestations of Sora's friends. Sora has befriended the Dream Eaters, Stitch, Simba, and Ariel, but he has never even met Ralph. So why is he one of the Links? How can Sora manifest a friend he hasn't made? However, Player meets and befriends Ralph in Union X. If Player becomes Sora, then this could explain away this plot hole.

Not really as evidence, but it's also more satisfying if Player becomes Sora. Player resisted darkness so long in Union X only to become the bad guy? Not very satisfying. But if Player becomes Sora, it completes a circle and keeps with a counterpart of Sora being playable in every Kingdom Hearts game. Even still I have another theory: Player becomes BOTH Sora and Xehanort.

This is a really crackpot theory, but I think at the end of Union X, Player's heart is fractured, similarly to Ven's when Xehanort created Vanitas. Darkness possessed Player, but Player, like MoM intended for the Foretellers, was able to maintain control, hence why Player could trick the other Darknesses. We never see Darkness leave Player, so it stands to reason it is still in Player's heart when it dissolves into a new heart. Based on this, it is possible that when Player chooses to stay awake, their heart splits into two pieces, one of which has the remaining Darkness, with even less of a will of its own. This piece melts into Xehanort and then the other part free of capital D Darkness melts into Sora.

I don't know if any of this is plausible or even makes sense to anyone other than me, but I definitely wanted to share it.

Any music mods for KHFM or KH2FM?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 01:42 PM PDT

I'm not a fan of the reorchestrated soundtrack for either game...are there any mods available to change the music to the original tracks from the PS2 games? I haven't been able to locate any, is anyone working on them?
