I was going through some boxes in my attic and found this copy of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Seeing this on the shelf was the first time I saw that Kingdom Hearts 2 was even a thing. It blew my tiny mind and I bought it instantly.

Guess what just happened to me?

Am I the only one who ever found the beginning of the Hundred Acre Wood storyline exceptionally dark?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:15 PM PDT

While the world story rapidly settles back into low-stakes Pooh and Friends silly hijinks as soon as Sora starts finding the missing pages, the very first scene of the Hundred Acre Wood always struck me as a little grim: opening up on the map of the Hundred Acre Wood with its locations scrubbed away off the page... Pooh sitting alone in his torn-apart storybook, very clearly depressed about the fact that all his friends are gone, wondering if he's going to go away too and how he'll be able to say goodbye to himself if that does happen before wandering off out of the clearing. Typing it out feels like I'm describing one of those crummy 'lost episode' creepypastas.

Obviously directly following that it just turns into goofy Pooh Bear antics after you collect a page but, particularly as I grew up with the Winnie-the-Pooh cartoons and the book by A.A. Milne, the first cutscene did feel a little like a fairly unpleasant introduction to the KH version of the story.

Did anyone else have this reaction or is it just me?

    Playing again

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 11:18 PM PDT

When I was young I played the first and second games. I wasn't super dedicated to games back then as I only played at a friend's house when I went over there. Now I'm a pc player and just picked up 1.5 and 2.5 remix. Man this game is great, challenging, and nostalgic. I feel like this game was and is super underatted. It seems there is still a decent community surrounding this franchise. I'm a streamer on twitch and there seems to be a decent amount of viewers which is impressive for an older game series. They just don't make games like they used too. Anyway. That was my rant. Have a great night/ day everyone!
