Have they fixed the KH 1.5+2.5 bugs on PC?

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 08:26 PM PDT

I've wanted to purchase this game on the PC for a while now but I've heard it was very buggy when it released. Has it improved at all?

    Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 PC not working/launching

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 10:26 PM PDT

    Hi everyone

I recently got the collection, but the games simply won't launch on my best PC: when I try to, the window shows up but stays white... and closes again.

Strangely enough it works well enough on a lower-spec laptop I have. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the hardware, it's the one single game I've had this happen.
I've looked around for solutions but even here all I could find was people with the same problem...

Does anyone knows of a fix?

    Thank you.

What was your KH experience with the vanilla versions of the games?

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 08:08 PM PDT

I guess KH1 is debatable since the game literally has multiple different versions. Since I grew up playing the US/international version I think that was an amazing experience. I never knew that the US version had added content or that there was FM until like 2007 when YouTube was getting popular. Regardless they really knocked it out of the park with the vanilla experience for the international release. The JP release though probably would feel pretty lacking though.

I liked vanilla KH2 at the time, but nowadays I wonder what it would be like to replay it. It's probably been a decade since I played the vanilla release of KH2. For the time I just remember fighting Sephiroth and doing cups. Eventually I found out you could actually level drive forms and I remember being so blown away by growth abilities.

KH BBS I remember was decent during the time as well. But similar to KH1, the game had extra content in the international release. The ability to play a full KH experience on the go was mind blowing. I guess back then I didn't play so much attention to the game mechanics and thought it was a fun experience. The multi-player mode was also really cool. I remember playing with friends on the bus.

KH3, I had a weird experience, it took me a while to digest and decide what I had played. I liked the game, there were parts that I thought could have been better and I wish the vanilla game had a better secret boss but in the end it was pretty good.

Does Riku Still Have Access to Way to the Dawn

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 08:59 PM PDT

I know that he broke it when the Demon Tide gave him that haircut, and that he left it on the beach for "the other me". Fast-forward to Aquanort and all, we see Repliku with the not the Soul Eater, but a newly-repaired Way to the Dawn. Which meant that Repliku physically/spiritually(?) existed in until he hijacked Dark Riku (OGXIII) so that Namine could take the vessel to reexist.

Assuming the above, does this mean Riku could have access to the Way to the Dawn? Not gonna lie, but it's the better keyblade aesthetically (an angel/demon sword vs. a giant car key) and it represents his journey of light and dark.

Also on the side note: Anyone miss playing Riku alone as a protagonist. So far, we have NEVER played Riku in a main storyline game. Re:Chain was playing poker, DDD used BBS weird ATB system, and guest appearances in KH2, KH3, and RE:Mind do not count. Since he's going to Quadratum to save Sora for the 3rd time in a row, maybe we'll have the chance in KH4(?)

    Could Xehanort Have Dual-Wielded

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 11:56 PM PDT

Now that we know that the Player from Union Cross and Xehanort are in a similar situation to Sora and Ventus, do you think that he could have dual-wielded keyblades? Or do you think that he can't because in the Player's case he was melted into Xehanort's heart instead of staying separate. We do know that he owns two different keyblades, because unless his original one from Dark Road broke, he should have that and the No Name.

    Kingdom Hearts Future

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 11:06 PM PDT

I can't wait to see what the future holds for Kingdom Hearts. There are so many plotlines and ways the series can go that I get excited just thinking about them! I want to collect all the story threads into potential games, and see how many we can get.

    Subject X

Subject X is almost definitely Skuld, all we need is a confirmation. We are at the 99% mark XD, but Nomura could always pull another twist and have her be someone from Quadratum or anywhere else. Anyways, here is how I can see this being developed into video games:

    • Kingdom Hearts Lost Wanderer: A game focusing on the Twilight trio (and Saix), and their search for Sora or Subject X, or a game focusing on Subject X and her journey throughout her life.
    • Kingdom Hearts Re:Union Cross: A game retelling the events of Union Cross from the perspective of the Dandelions where we play as them, but this might also end up being the rumored tv series.

    Brain

At the end of Union X we learn that Brain ends up in this Bloodborne-garbed (best description I can think of XD) foggy town after having disappeared for a long time.

    • Kingdom Hearts Bearer of Light: A game having Brain as the main character and his journey through this new life in Foggy Town. Alternatively, this title also works for an Ephemer game detailing the establishment of Scala Ad Caelum and the passing down of the light.
    • Kingdom Hearts Double Phantom: A game telling the story of Luxu from the beginning to why and how he looks like Brain now.

    Kairi

Following Melody of Memory, Kairi decides to forego going to Quadratum in favor of learning from Master Aqua (love this idea), and this is assuming that Aqua comes back safely from the realm of Darkness.

    • Kingdom Hearts Sorcerer's Apprentice: A game with Kairi going through Disney worlds, meeting the new princesses of Heart, and learning more about being a Keyblade Master and Aqua taking up Eraqus's mantle.
    • Kingdom Hearts The Last/Final Piece: Wayfinder trio going through the realm of Darkness with them needing Kairi's help, and Maleficent playing a major role here with her search for the box.

    The Lost Masters

We know that they've finally been summoned back at the end of KHIII, and thanks to Union Cross we also know that they disappeared at the end of the Ancient Keyblade War.

    • Kingdom Hearts Forgotten World: A game focusing on The Lost Masters' journey through the other world and Mickey's search for them in Scala Ad Caelum.
    • Kingdom Hearts Key Holder: The MoM is the main character and we go through the very first war against Darkness. I highly doubt we'll be getting a game like this anytime soon because I think it's too early to reveal all the secrets, but it's still fun to speculate.

    Dandelions

We know that Elrena and Lauriam are somewhere in this world, but they haven't taken center stage yet. I'll talk about Ventus in the Wayfinder trio one, and Brain and Skuld got their own paragraph. We still don't much about Strelitzia to make grounded assumptions.

    • Kingdom Hearts Agent of Chaos: A game showing how the last remaining Organization XIII members where recruited. Demyx MoM reveal ;).
    • Kingdom Hearts Lux Lullabies or Lullaby's Cradle: We finally play as the Dandelions. I really have no idea how this will go. I don't know why, but I feel like this would be a 2D adventure game in the vein of Odin Sphere.

    Luxord

The man himself. Out of all the characters in Organization XIII, luxord is the most enigmatic. Everyone was recruited by either Xehanort or Xigbar, and we are 99% sure Luxord is Yozora's driver as shown at the end of the Yozora-Beaten Remind Ending. Now see, Xehanort never found that other world so he couldn't have recruited him, and at the beginning of Remind Xigbar tells him "The question is, who are you Luxord", so he doesn't know who he really is either . Therefore, neither Xehanort nor Xigbar could have known about his existence let alone recruited him. Everyone else in Organization XIII is from the KH world, so who could've brought him... well there is one last person. The only other person we know nothing about, Demyx. Luxord even appearing in the KH universe is an achievement on it's own. How did he even cross into the world? How did he meet Organization XIII? After he lost in KHII, how did he come back and be a nobody again so fast (Someone is playing jump rope between worlds)? Can he get a straight flush constantly? So many mysteries surrounding this character and the only connection I can make is through Demyx being MoM who can exist in both worlds (KHIII Ending).

    • Kingdom Hearts Fourside: A game where you go through Quadratum pre-Luxord's arrival in the KH Universe, so this would take place before KHII.
    • Kingdom Hearts Fate's Messenger/Messenger of Fate: Luxord's return to Quadratum and telling Yozora about Sora (Yozora mentions that he's heard of Sora).

    Wayfinder Trio

Having gone to the realm of Darkness in search of Sora, there is still many adventures awaiting this group. Even though it's taking placing 1 year after KH3, can we assume the trio have gotten over their PTSD? I'd like to think that they didn't. Aqua was in the realm of darkness for 10 years, Terra was lost and his body toyed with, and Ventus was sleeping for almost as long (though I do wonder how he survived without eating for 10 years...). Something needs to come out of this, they can't just go back to how things were after everything they've gone through, and the realm of darkness is just the place for these plot threads to converge:

    • Kingdom Hearts Voyagers: a game similar to 0.2, but on a bigger scale. More disney worlds lost in the darkness, some of them from BBS, with the characters reflecting on how their choices caused this, and how they weren't powerful enough to save them.
    • Kingdom Hearts Unknown Gates: a game with a more Sora-centric search. I don't know anyone left that could be in the Realm of Darkness, so this is a good chance to bring back some Final Fantasy and TWEWY characters. We don't know where Neku and the others ended up after DDD, but Zack has a big chance of being here. We could also find more about the lost masters here or actually meet some of them. Dark Road introduced a plethora of new characters we've never seen before, and although we know that 4 of them are "dead", we never actually saw the bodies, so of them might have been lost here and in the darkest crevices of this Realm.

    Yozora

THE ONE! THE ONLY! NOCTIS YOFREAKINGZORA!!!! This is the single most exciting story to have ever grace Kingdom Hearts!!! KHIII SECRET ENDING IS MY FAVORITE ENDING IN THE SERIES!!! Just when I thought I knew where the series was going, or that it had run out of steam, Nomura pulls this. The amount of happiness I felt when the Somnus remix started is indescribable! The Re:Mind boss fight is the single greatest boss fight in gaming history (I go back and forth between it and Ocarina of Time Ganondorf), and from there Sora is frozen with Yozora promising to save him:

    • Verum Rex or Kingdom Hearts Verum Rex: a game detailing the Verum Rex world. An original story that focuses on Yozora's rise to Commander with Final Fantasy characters playing a bigger role here than ever before. Disney can appear here too but it depends how they choose to take the story. We can learn how the Fairy Godmother knew about the nameless star's presence in the final world.
    • Kingdom Hearts A Crystal's Tale: a game showing how Luxord and maybe Demyx came to the KH world, and why in the long run this was Yozora's idea. Luxord must have disappeared for a long time from the Verum Rex world, and since he's Yozora's personal driver he must have been sent on a very important mission. When we see him in the ending, he is talking casually with Yozora, so he must have arrived back there some time ago. Finishing off with the Re:Mind ending but with more context.
    • Kingdom Hearts Versus III: re-contextualizing the events of Versus XIII, this game is about Yozora and the nameless star. It shows how he lost his shape and memories of her. The bros. ride-along game that Nomura always wanted. Aya Brea makes a cameo (wishful thinking I know).

    Sora

Our main protagonist. Honestly I don't see Sora's story moving at all right now, not until Verum Rex is explored in detail. All the others characters have active plotlines, but Sora is either stuck in the final world or frozen. Either way he's not moving anytime soon. That's why I think that Nomura and his team will focus on getting everyone to Sora than on getting Sora to everyone. In the end Sora will re-enter the story in due time when we arrive at Kingdom Hearts IV!

I hope you are as excited as I am to the future of this wonderful series! Nomura has stated that he would like to make at least one game before Kingdom Hearts IV, and by now Dark Road and Melody of Memory have been released. That's one more game than he wanted, but he can always add more. The point is, the stage is set for Kingdom Hearts IV, Kingdom Hearts Verum Rex, or Kingdom Hearts III.5! Going forward, I can't wait to see how the story and gameplay evolve. Thanks for reading!

    The Xemnas dillema

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 01:37 PM PDT

I know the discussion about why Xemnas can't use his keyblade, and I would like to show my take on the matter.

We know Xemnas is the nobody of Terra and Xehanort, as an nobody of a keyblade wielders with his memory he should be able to summon a keyblade, but he doesn't. I believe he doesn't summon it because of his conflicting mind.

As the nobody of Tera and Xehanort he brings both of their memories, I believe his memories of Terra make him restrain himself. After all Terra has lots of willpower.

Why does Data Lexaeus keep powering up?

    Posted: 10 Sep 2021 02:38 PM PDT

I can't beat him. Even when I have Genie out and no one is attacking him, he keeps powering up. What am I doing wrong? I can get past about 4 bars of health before he complete destroys me. Even at 99 with max strength and almost max defense with Ultima, nothing seems to be working.
