Vanitas was one of the best villains in the franchise

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:39 AM PST

He was a rare KH original villain who was genuinely evil and had his own goals instead of just being a pawn of someone.

He was absolute sadist who lived off the suffering of others. He was pure evil with zero redeeming qualities. He actually stayed a villain to the end as he was dying in KH3 instead of having a moment of redemption. He had no code of honor and used underhanded tactics in battle which allowed him to defeat Aqua on several occasions. He knocked Aqua out from behind without announcing his presence, and tried to kill her then and there while she was unconscious. Realizing he can't win in a clean fight against her in KH3, he fires magic at the sleeping Ventus forcing Aqua to take the bullet knocking her out. Vanitas was also able to defeat Mickey in Neverland. He does not play around.

He served under Xehanort but he wasn't that loyal to him and was willing to defy his orders for his own goals. He attempts to eliminate Ventus after defeating him in their first battle despite knowing that Master Xehanort wanted Ventus alive for his plans, even openly stating that he is well aware he's going against Xehanort's orders but does not care at that moment. Later, before the start of the Keyblade War, he is willing to interfere with the Organization's plan to use the Seven Guardians of Light in order to retrieve Ventus's heart and restore himself, even though this will force the Organization to rely on the New Seven Hearts.

His boss battles were challenging and epic. The theme really helps.

Vanitas was one of the best villains due to a combination of a cool design, being genuinely evil unlike the more sympathetic villains, awesome boss battles, and being overall intimidating.

Using the lore of Kingdom Hearts, one could create an endless army of themselves .

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:10 AM PST

Not as Xehanort did via time travel, but actual existing, not by time bound yous with real hearts for themselves.

    1. Release your heart and create nobody as well as heartless. If you're strong enough your heartless (ansem) and nobody (xemnas) retain their form and brain.

      1. Grow a heart as nobody.
      2. Repeat 1.

If your heartless isn't retaining its form, then use a princess of heart to get your heartless back to your real form. Repeat from the beginning. And without a princess, you'd end up with tons of heartless, all made by yourself.
