    Why are most Kingdom Hearts fans non-Disney fans?

    Isn't Kingdom Hearts suppose to aim towards people who are actually fans of Disney movies and the people who played Final Fantasy games? Because I never heard of people who played the Kingdom Hearts franchise ever mentioned about any Disney characters and stuff, only mentioning about Square-Enix characters, at least in my experience. Even in fanarts you never have seen a lot of Disney characters except for Donald and Goofy. Hell even both video games and manga represent a lot of Disney characters, yet it was never mentioned by many fans.

    Future of Final Fantasy characters

    I've been thinking about the future of the Final Fantasy characters a lot lately. I think everyone was a little annoyed or bothered by their exclusion in KH3, but I realized that it also kinda goes back to even 3D. In 3D they did something different, they had another of Tetsuya Nomura's designed characters from The World Ends With You. I think around KH2 Nomura said that he doesn't feel comfortable putting characters he didn't design but made an exception for ViVi cause of something.

    So I had a thought, what if in the future Kingdom Hearts as a series isn't limited to being a Disney and Final Fantasy merger, but rather a Disney and Nomura merger. Elements for this already kinda exist. TWEWY characters could make a come back for KH4 since they are in the "real world" now. Pence wears Dog Street clothes.

    I think that's something I'd really be interested in seeing. Sion from The Bouncer making a comeback, anyone from Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve (not so much), Ehrgeiz, or Musashi. I know things might be limited but I feel some of these characters, mostly just The Bouncer, could kinda fit with where Kingdom Hearts has gone.

    I'm kinda open to the idea of seeing some of these characters teased or even added to future games. I certainly would miss the Final Fantasy focus since that's what brought me to the games originally but how would you guys feel about seeing these other Nomura designs being added to future Kingdom Hearts games?

    Opinion on how Women are represented in Kingdom Hearts

    Now I'm not trying to say Tetsuya Nomura can't write women, because I actually think the characters of Naminé, Aqua & Xion are pretty well handled. Then there's Kairi who pretty much exists just to save Sora through magical light powers every once in a while without an arc of her own.

    I think my main issue is that we are a total of 9 games into the series and yet we have only had 1 female character that has an arc, actual playtime, good amount of screen time focused only on herself and not others & can actually hold her own. Aqua.

    Yes I do like Aqua very much as a character but I honestly think it's because she's the only female in the series to accomplish things and be a driving force.

    Naminé accomplishes things and helps people and honestly I have nothing against characters who don't fight and simply help from the sides. Again though, in kh2 the only female characters we had were Kairi and Naminé. Kairi just got kidnapped once and Naminé actually rescued her but then instead of teleporting off world, they teleport to a random hallway in the same world and have to be saved by Riku. She was able to talk to Terra in kh3 and have his Lingering Will help but again, she has no arc of her own and only serves as a plot witch to help Sora and his friends.

    Xion is not bad. Yes she first serves as just an extension of a male character but really came into her own and had her own arc and chose to leave the world for the greater good. Again the problem is that we never see her really accomplish anything besides dying. She doesn't defeat anyone besides heartless and knocking out Xigbar that one time, we don't play as her at all and even in kh3, she's simply cannon fodder next to the godly over powered Roxas who can't be damaged.

    Kairi...oh Kairi. Do I really need to say more? Kh1, she was a damsel in distress and nothing more. Kh2 she was a damsel in distress with a glimmer of hope after being given a keyblade. In kh3, she fights a small bit...and ends up a damsel in distress. Oh yeah and she saved Sora twice through her magical unexplained princess powers.

    Do you think I'm overreacting or is this a real problem with this series? Please let me know below.

    For those of you asking why I didn't include Larxene, Skuld & Strelitzia? Larxene is just a bitchy woman stereotype (though I still like her and hope she develops more), Skuld is a 2d character with pretty much a 2d character structure, as in she has none at the moment, and Strelitzia's only short screentime was about pining after the main character and then dying.
