If you watch the 2011 Versus XIII trailer and then watch the Yozora trailer

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 07:34 PM PST

The parallels between the two become even more obvious. The ominous operatic score combined with the scenes of the city and the trio fighting their way to the top of that tower, it's like looking at Versus through a funhouse mirror.

In FFXV Noctis is a pretty down-to-Earth guy. He makes a couple remarks here and there that can be kind of cocky but those are just throwaway lines after you win battles. In the old Versus trailer he comes off as cocky to the point where he was ready to try and destroy the entire Niflheim army on the spot during the invasion. I wonder of Yozora will have a similarly cocky attitude.

Has anyone discussed who screwed over France?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 12:07 PM PST

I mean 2 of the 7 sleeping worlds are French. The country of the musketeers and la cite de cloches. What does the darkness want with France? Not to mention we know that beasts castle, also in French, fell fully to the darkness at least once.

The cool thing the Kingdom Hearts 3 did [KH3]

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 06:45 PM PST

going back though kingdom hearts 3 I did notice one kind of neat thing, in pretty much all the Disney worlds there is a running theme of characters "dying" and coming back to life. Flynn from tangled, Anna from Frozen, Will turner in pirates and baymax from big hero 6, which of course culminates with the death and revival of all the characters at the end of the game. so yeah we've got some pretty basic theming and foreshadowing good job Nomura you did it.

Accidentally Deleted my 5yos save, he was on Dark Baymax

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 12:59 PM PST

Had gotten through the entire game with limited help due to controller size issues, he couldn't airstep.

And somehow I fat fingered my crit run in his save slot. Fuck

At least when he starts over he gets new game + this time, and Ultima weapon.

What is the deal with Level 1!?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 11:18 PM PST

Is it just for the challenge, bragging rights, or is there a practical reason to have a level 1 critical save? Everyone seems to talk about their level 1 crit like it's a religion, and here I am just looking to platinum the other titles before RE:MIND.

[KHUX]Which Union Leader got No Name?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 10:23 PM PST

In Secret Reports 11-13, Luxu says he gave No Name to one of the union leaders, and then they passed it on to the next generation.

But who the fuck exactly did he give it to? We know it's one of these:

    • Brain

    • Ventus

    • Ephemer

    • Skuld

    • Lauriam

Now, Lauriam, Ventus, and Skuld/Subject X are all known in the present, and quite frankly, I feel that it's unlikely that they'd pull on a current character then reveal that they had the No Name before then lost it. It'd be really weird to know that Ventus used Xehanort's keyblade.

We have no idea what went down with Ephemer and Brain though. And Ephemer with No Name? No way. He does not at all match the darkness one should have if they are to wield the No Name.

Brain? Yeah, he could. My guess is Brain, purely because he's pretty fitting with it and nobody else is. I have no evidence, but do any of you?

    Aqua's plans (ReMind)

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 04:58 PM PST

So in the new ReMind trailer we see a scene between Riku and Aqua where Riku asks her "Are you sure about this?" and she says "Yes, but don't worry. I'm not alone this time". From this we are not sure what they are refering to. But I went to watch the Japanese version and it gives us more details.

Riku asks "Are you really going?" and Aqua says "Yes, but it's fine. This time it'll be the 3 of us together". So from this we can determine that Aqua, Ven and Terra are going somewhere, another world. Maybe the realm of darkness since she says she won't be alone this time? Anyway, this must be after the ending, where Riku pays them a visit or something.

I don't know if someone had pointed this out yet, but I found it pretty interesting.

Amped to replay with the new DLC, 2 questions

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 05:59 PM PST

    1. Do we know are there cutscenes being added into the actual story? I'd like to start my playthrough now but if we're getting new midgame cutscenes I don't want to miss out and will just wait for the DLC.
    2. How is the difficulty of Crit lvl1? I loved Crit lvl1 on kh2 and am debating whether to play at lvl 1 on here. I probably won't do the new DLC super bosses on lvl 1, will probably just play through the final boss then make a seperate save to lvl to 99 for the all the new DLC.

What gives a heartless its skills? (Rambling)

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 12:18 PM PST

Over the many games, we've seen a large diversity of heartless, the majority of which are emblem heartless. But it's still an interesting question of what specifically makes any individual heartless acquire the appearance and move set that they use in combat?

One inconsistency is that when that random guy falls in Traverse Town, it summons a Soldier, rather than a pureblood. Not sure what the significance of this is, but its a bit weird.

In KHUX, are the Darklings purebloods? Are they heartless at all? Why do they seem to look almost identical to the Gargoyle Emblam heartless?

In Coded, we eventually determine that the bug blox are effectively digital heartless. Now they're in UX because it's a digital sleeping world where heartless, dream eaters and bug blox can all coexist somehow.

One thing I always liked to imagine is that Invisibles and their sub-species are all exclusively former keyblade wielders, with the way they use their swords and the dark fire they always seem to have.
