I was inspired by SoraAlam1's Keyblade Master Challenge. By no means would I be able to actually complete it, but I decided to challenge myself and complete the Garden of Assemblage for the first time ever, and on Critical by the end of the challenge, January 23rd. Just finished last night.

I've made the simple mistake of taking a break from a KH Game...

    Posted: 15 Jan 2020 05:30 PM PST

Dream Drop to be specific. I'm not too far from the end I think, but having to play each world twice is a bit of a drag. I'd really love to see how it ends before I start KH3, but at the same time, I'm finding this game a bit of a chore. For reference to my position, I'm doing my Riku drop of Mouseketeer Country, but have already finished Sora's adventure there. Should I just stick it out, or try finding a story guide for the finale?

Finished KH2; I didn't like it nearly as much as the first. What did I miss?

Just finished Kingdom Hearts 2 (after some help with the Roxas fight thanks to some of this sub's users) and I have to say...I was kind of disappointed overall, especially considering its reputation as being better than the first game.

The biggest issues I have are the (to me) seemingly lazy design of the game's third act from a gameplay perspective (boss rush in a not-very-interesting looking environment) with the bosses feeling just plain annoying; and the story that seems to be completely focused on characters I'm just not that interested in. Now, it's okay for a final boss to be hard but Xemnas felt like it was based more on luck than anything since I would jam on the triangle button at the start of the fight and when I hit the ground I might have 1/4 health or I might have 3/4. All of the Organization XIII members just feel like stock "annoying boss fights".

As for the characters, I feel like Organization XIII feels lazy as well- a bunch of people that dress exactly the same and just have different hairstyles and weapons to distinguish them. It feels like it stands out after KH1 mostly stuck to Disney villains outside of Ansem himself. Maleficent comes back early on...and feels wasted as she helps you and doesn't seem to have an opposing agenda following the big battle in the middle of the game. Now, I'll state that I didn't strictly speaking play Chain of Memories (hated the card gameplay) but I did read the manga, watch the cutscenes and a plot summary. I just don't find Organization XIII all that interesting so far.

To add to that it feels like a lot of the characters just show up...then disappear, the Final Fantasy ones especially. Auron's in your party for five minutes then "welp, bye". The cutscene he's introduced in is probably as long as he's in your party. This and the boss rush at the end make the game feel kind of rushed to me.

There's a lot I did like, and I even the Atlantica rhythm game everyone hates I found pretty inoffensive and a nice break from the battles. The Barbossa boss fight I thought was a lot of fun too. Basically all of the Disney worlds I enjoyed (even TRON!).

I feel like KH1 felt more cohesive and Hollow Bastion and The End of the World felt much more climactic than the World that Never Was, at least to me. I feel like I'm missing something. I know the third act of the game left a bad taste in my mouth (at least the ending and Riku/Kairi/Sora reuniting was satisfying) but it kind of worries me. I really loved the first Kingdom Hearts, to the point that I'd say it saved my interest in gaming. I'm kind of not sure what to think now.

    Thanks to the community

Alright. I made a reddit account just for this post.

Ive been a huge disney fan but never a gamer. I played KH3 and was hooked the next day I took my savings (which was going to a car) bought a ps4 pro and Kh3. Some might cringe at the fact I started with three. This was the first game I played and after 150 hours Ive 100% Kh3 and then have just now finished Kh1 and am moving on to Chain of memories. To say i hadnt touched a game in my adult life to spending all my time playing its insane.

This is just a thank you to the community/ youtubers and content creators, ive never been apart of the gaming community and i have felt so welcome in this one.

I am obsessed! even debating getting a 3ds for DDD instead of the ps4 version just so i can have a handheld kh game.

    Love you all

AU KH3 ReMind + Concert video seems to show a size of 8.36gb. Not sure if it's just the concert video size or the full DLC. Xbox has a smaller size, 6.41gb. File size seems to have been removed from the AU PSN site.

Just preordered ReMind today. Can’t wait for this bad boy to come out.
