    I think Ava is Subject X (KH3 + Limit Cut Spoilers)

    So the predominant theory in the fandom seems to be that Skuld is Subject X. But I am currently actually leaning more towards Ava. I feel like it makes more sense for it to be her than Skuld. I have a couple different reasons for thinking this.

    1. My main reason for thinking she's Ava is the whole "X" thing. I feel like it's been strongly implied that Ava is the traitor… or at the very least, that the MoM is setting her up to SEEM like the traitor. In Back Cover Gula told Ava that the Lost Page spoke of "an inevitable betrayal from the one who bears the sigil". If Ava were Subject X, that would mean she now "bears the sigil", which ties in with the whole Ava = Traitor idea. Skuld being branded with the sigil isn't very fitting because she was never a Foreteller to begin with.
    2. The fact that Ven and Subject X arrived in the future at different times. It seems X arrived in Radiant Garden sometime during or after the events of BBS, while Ven was already in the future at least 4-5 years before BBS. If Ven and Skuld traveled to the future at the same time, why would Skuld not arrive until 5 years AFTER Ven arrived? This seems like a possible indicator that X traveled at a different time than Ven, which points more towards Ava.
    3. Namine.

    To me it seems like there's a potential connection between Subject X and Namine. There are some bits of dialogue about Namine in Days that seemed kind of random or didn't make much sense at all to me before. But with the new info about Subject X, some of these cutscenes seem like they'd actually make more sense, if we assume Subject X and Namine are connected.

    For example, on day 255 we get this exchange between Saix and Xigbar:

    Xemnas: And Naminé?

    Saïx: Still missing, sir.

    Xigbar: Missing indeed. Ha ha! Wherever could she be?

    Saïx: Why, Xigbar... It almost sounds as though you know.

    Xigbar: Hmph.

    In the Days "movie" they even have Xigbar make a sort of taunting "tee hee" noise and Saix scowls angrily. I always thought this exchange was a bit weird. Why is Xigbar taunting Saix about "Namine" being missing? But this scene seems so much more on the nose now that we know Lea and Isa were looking for a girl that was most likely taken away by Xigbar.

    And on day 117, we get this weird scene:

    Axel: You mean the chamber. We turned that place inside out. If it's there, we're not gonna find it by just looking.

    Saïx: Hmm... Then let me give you another incentive. Naminé isn't the only one who can trace her beginnings to Castle Oblivion. Xion comes from there, too.

    Axel: Huh?

    Saïx: Two of your favorite people. Still think another visit is a waste of time?

    Axel: Naminé...and Xion?

    I've always found this scene weird. Why would Saix say that Namine is one of Axel's "favorite people"? They're not really friends at all as far as I know. Unless when Saix is talking about "Namine", he's not *really* talking about Namine.

    On day 194, Axel is also seen looking at a file of Vexen's called "THE TRUTH ABOUT NAMINE". The contents of this file have yet to be revealed, but it seems to me like a pretty strong hint that there's going to end up being more to Namine's origins. And it just seems sort of weird that Axel seems so interested in Namine despite not being friends. Why was he even looking at this file?

    And then there's also this scene in KH3 that's kind of interesting. When Ansem SoD takes Ansem the Wise away to try to get him to show him where Subject X is… they go to the Twilight Town mansion. Which, you know, just so happens to be where Namine was in 358/2 Days? And they even have Ansem the Wise pointedly glance up at the room that Namine was staying in, with the shot lingering on her window.

    So if there is indeed a connection between Subject X and Namine, then that definitely points towards X being Ava, imo. Because there seems like there's a potential connection between Namine and Ava. I've seen other people speculating on the two being connected as well. They seem to have suspiciously similar powers (both can change their appearance, and Ava also seems to have the power to manipulate memories). And there's also the fact that we don't know what Ava looks like under her mask and hood, which is also suspicious to me. Because we still don't really know why the hell Namine has blonde hair. I've never bought into the theory that she's blonde because of Ven. I mean, just look at them. They have very visibly different shades of blonde hair. Roxas and Ven have more or less the same hair color, but Namine's hair is a considerably paler shade of blonde than either of them. It's made me wonder if perhaps Ava is to Namine what Ven is to Roxas? Is she the reason Namine looks the way she does and has the powers she has?

    There's also one more scene that makes me suspect a connection between Namine and Ava. It's this exchange from the epilogue between Gula and Xigbar.

    Xigbar: I guess Ava didn't make it after all.

    Gula: Meaning what?

    Xigbar: I told her, clear as day, what it is I had to do.

    Gula: And is that why you decided to exclude her**?**

    That last line from Gula just seems so on the nose to me. "Is that why you decided to exclude her". Because, like, does it seem to anyone else that Namine has been deliberately excluded as well? Especially in KH3? She didn't appear in any of the KH3 trailers, didn't appear in the opening movie, she only speaks in one optional cutscene in the base game, and doesn't actually appear until the very end. And she's also the only main character who's never had her own trio. And she's the only humanoid Nobody who was excluded from joining Organization 13, and who was given her own unique name instead of doing the "X anagram" thing.

    Another interesting thing is that Namine is the only character who was at the beach party at the end of KH3 whose fate after KH3 is a mystery. We know from the Limit Cut that Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are retracing Sora's steps. Terra, Aqua, and Ven are searching the Realm of Darkness. The Twilight Town gang (which we can assume refers to Axel, Xion, Roxas, Hayner, Pence, Olette, and Isa) are studying Roxas and Xion's memories. Kairi is sleeping in Radiant Garden while they search her heart. But what about Namine? Is she helping the Twilight Town gang study Roxas and Xion's memories? Is she helping Ansem, Ienzo, and Even search Kairi's heart? Did she stay at the Destiny Islands? Did she go off on her own? Where is she? It's almost like her current location is a mystery just as much as X's location is currently a mystery.

    So that's my thoughts on that. Just seems to me like if Ava and Namine are connected, and Ava is X, some stuff that didn't seem to make much sense before suddenly makes more sense.
