    To me, the most underrated game in KH by far. I see it get shit on or questions about "should I skip RE:COM" all the time but I don't think it gets any credit for actually being a pretty awesome game. I don't think it's better than any of the mainline KHs (1,2,3) but it's for sure to me better than Birth By Sleep, for example. I'll explain:

    The gameplay is honestly pretty fun to me if you give it a fair chance. Building decks could be kind of tedious but once you learned how to do it and how to build for bosses vs. mob fights it got really interesting. There are some broken sleights but it's slightly balanced by the fact that the top card in the sleight disappears after using the sleight. Also you can't just mash triangle and use them mindlessly because they can still get broken with harder bosses having sleights that have a really high total value like 24 or higher or something. It took me quite a while to get used to the gameplay, but once I did it was super rewarding and I had a lot of fun out of the battle system. Bosses were super rewarding and fairly consistent in how they worked. If you didn't like deck building, reverse/rebirth allowed you to not have to do that and rewarded you for playing smarter with Riku's dark form and special sleights he got in only that form. Fighting the organization members was definitely a highlight for me and despite being frustrating they were fun. Fuck you Axel 2 and Replica Riku 4.

    Story wise is something I think COM doesn't get enough shine for either. The disney worlds were pretty trash in general yeah. Moving on. The stuff in castle oblivion was all pretty awesome. Meeting the organization members, the intrigue behind losing memories and gaining new ones with Namine's power and Sora getting pretty heated on multiple occasions made for a pretty gripping story imo. I also love the mystery surrounding Twilight Town and as someone who had only played KH1 and was going in blind, I was so confused about what the heck Twilight Town was the whole time lol. I was like, "This was never in the first game, did I miss something?" But it's so cool. That music hits different. The little hints at Roxas too, and the secret ending at the end of reverse/rebirth where you wonder who the fuck this blonde kid is. The story is just so much fun.

    All in all I just think RECOM deserves some more love and the gameplay isn't as bad as some would think. What are your thoughts? Where do you have it ranked on your KH game tier list?
