With how high of a pedestal it’s been placed upon, let’s travel back in time to see how KH2 was initially received by the fanbase. Times have changed but some of these decade old comments sound awfully familiar, don’t you think?

A few years ago, I tried to get into Kingdom Hearts, and although I enjoyed it, it never really fully caught my attention. Years later, in the midst of a pandemic, I figure there’s no better time to give it another shot! Went all in with the full series!

This is my Kingdom Hearts Tier List. S and A tier are really good games. B tier just needed more balancing and content. C tier was missing one major aspect either length(0.2), story (recoded), or gameplay (385/2 days). Finally D tier is X.

La Fee Sauvage has been a nightmare to deal with

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 10:29 PM PDT

I went to the World of Tres concert in September at the Fox in Atlanta. The merch lines were super long and I saw the flyer that said we could order the same products online with free shipping. Thought that sounded great, got back to the hotel and placed the order. That was mid September.

Since then I received multiple emails about product delays due to restocking issues. That was fine, I can understand the delays for that reason. New Years rolls around, still nothing. I email them on the 31st of January and they tell me it should be shipping in two weeks. They had issues because of the protests. Also fine, I get it. Check in two weeks, still nothing. Website still just says payment accepted. I kept checking every few weeks, still saw the same message.

The virus started shutting things down and it slipped my mind to keep a check on it due to getting everything situated with school and work. So I check tonight and it says it's been delivered and it was delivered a month ago (March 18). I never received anything. No products. No email that it was even shipping at all. Customer service has yet to contact me back (they may not even be open honestly).

This has been one of the most frustrating experiences with a company I have ever had. It's been SEVEN months. They took my money and I have nothing to show for it. I will never purchase through these guys again.

Tl;dr it's been seven months since I placed my order and I have nothing to show for it.

    > Can someone go from the Realm of Light to the Realm of Darkness and the other way arround without Corridors of Darkness?

In KH3, Mickey fuses his two Keyblades, Star Seeker (Light origin) and Kingdom Key D (Dark origin) resulting in a Keyblade named Star Cluster, naturally, this Keyblade should be able to get its user in and out of the Realm of Darkness.

Another way is Gates, as long as the Realm Between is used as an intermediate between the two Realms.
Some Gates worked regardless of those rules, without intermediates: Kairi's letter and Master Defender were the triggers that helped Sora going in the opposite Realm.

Now for someone who don't have a Keyblade, using the Realm Between as a "stairway":

    - In the Realm of Darkness, the worlds are connected by land, so some worlds in the Realm Between are accessible without means to travel.
An example so far would be End of Sea, it's a world part of both the Realm of Darkness and the Realm Between: the beach in which Aqua and DiZ were is part of the Realm of Darkness, beyond the ocean in front of them is where Sora and Riku ended up after Xemnas's defeat, an opposite beach in the Realm Between.

    - In the Realm of Light, the worlds are separated by the Ocean Between, so are worlds from the Realm Between, so a way to travel is necessary.
Since the worlds in the Ocean Between have walls, a Keyblade or a Star Shard is necessary to bypass those.

    - In the Realm Between, the worlds range between the two Realms like a stairway, with some worlds bordering two Realms, like End of Sea for the Realm of Darkness and Mysterious Tower for the Realm of Light.
Not all the worlds from the Realm Between are accessible from both Realms, you can't access End of Sea (and maybe TWTNW) from the Realm of Light, for the same reason you can't access Mysterious Tower from the Realm of Darkness.

In conclusion, it's possible for a Keyblade wielder as long as they can summon Gates.
As for someone with only a Gummi Ship it's really complicated (assuming he can ignore Walls) but possible if he finds a world in the Realm Between connected to the Realm of Light (Ocean Between) and to the Realm of Darkness (connected by land) OR if he uses the worlds in the Realm Between as a "stairway" to progressively go up or down the worlds, until one is connected to the Realm of Light or the Realm of Darkness, depending on his destination.

Also, Mickey told Aqua: "Turns out, it's not so easy getting into the realm of darkness. The points you can cross have become unstable."So there is definitely an other, simpler way to enter the Realm of Darkness from the Realm of Light without a Keyblade.

    > End of Sea is a world composed of two Dark Margins, one in the Realm of Darkness and one in the Realm Between separated by an ocean. Why didn't Aqua and DiZ swim to reach to the other side of the ocean to the In-Between part and then go to the Realm of Light?

As stated above, Dark Margin (In-Between side) is not a world accessible from the Realm of Light as there is no pathway to this world: it's a world only connected by land, not by the Ocean Between. To do so, they need to use the worlds in the Realm Between as a "stairway" until they find a world connected to the Realm of Light, if the world they found has a wall, then a Keyblade/Star Shard and a vessel are needed to travel in the Ocean Between.

Another example so far is The World That Never Was, the only way in was a Corridor of Darkness left by Axel in Twilight Town, otherwise it wasn't possible to go in it. The route that appear after the discovery of the world is only a gameplay feature to ease the travel to the world: It's not considered canon. Moreover, it's a little detail but you can see Dark City UNDER the Ocean Between, whereas all of the other worlds are above it.

It's currently unknown if you can access the Realm of Darkness from TWTNW or the other way arround, but I guess you can: Sora and Riku got to End of Sea (In-Between side) after their fight with Xemnas, by walking.
It obviously wasn't a Corridor of Darkness, it was a light effect "end of tunnel" kind of like, maybe that's what it looks like when you go from a world to another IN the Realm Between. Afterwards, all they had to do was to cross the sea in front of them and they would've joined Aqua and DiZ in the Realm of Darkness.
Also, it's mentioned in Director's Report that TWTNW is the second closest known world to the Realm of Darkness, naturally the Dark Margin is the closest known one, so it makes sense that Sora and Riku ended here.

    > What did the meteor shower at the beginning of BBS meant?

It means that a world's wall was destroyed, it also confirms that worlds were destroyed even before Apprentice Xehanort's experiment.

    > How can a world be consumed after it's Keyhole is sealed (besides by a Keyblade Wielder)?

By litteral darkness, either born from inhabitants's hearts like the fairy tales's original World (it became the Realm of Darkness), or summoned like Xehanort almost did with Land of Departure.

    > What happens to inhabitants whose world succumbs?

There are three possibilities to this and each of them depends on how the inhabitants act:

    - If they get sucked by a Corridor of Darkness, they will end up in a random world, the most common being Traverse Town.
    - If they are attacked by Heartless, they'll turn into Heartless.
    - If they "resist" and are neither sucked into a Corridor nor turned into a Heartless, they will be in a "limbo state" where they will sleep until their world is restored (this is what happened the Destiny Islands inhabitants, including Tidus, Wakka and Selphie).

Interestingly, if someone take the Corridor in the other way, they'll end up in the Realm of Darkness, like Mickey who took one from Traverse Town to get in the Realm of Darkness.

    > How did Sora end up from End of the World to Castle Oblivion?

End of the World is leftovers of destroyed worlds merged together, the Door to Darkness's location was actually a small part of a destroyed world, as confirmed by KH Ultimania.
So when that part got restored, it transported Sora along with it who then walked until he met Marluxia who led him to Castle Oblivion. Whether the place in which Sora got transported was part of Castle Oblivion is unknown, but in all cases he walked all the way to the grassy fields, who also may or may not be part of Castle Oblivion.

    > If Sora really did get transported to Castle Oblivion, does that mean it was consumed?

Impossible, because Naminé was born in the Castle, and it also was Xemnas second HQ so Ansem had no reasons to destroy it.
If you looked at my "Notes" post, I noted that fragments of worlds could be consumed like Ansem's Laboratory in Radiant Garden or probably a part of Land of Departure by Master Xehanort.

    > Mickey's past is really unclear: what happened before he met Yen Sid? How did he get from Timeless River to Symphony of Sorcery?

Thanks to BBS, we know that Mickey didn't know how to use the Star Shard (correctly) or the Keyblade to travel, that leaves very few options.
So I think Mickey found Gummi Blocks in Timeless River, built his Gummi Ship and traveled to Symphony of Sorcery then met Yen Sid who became his master and briefed him about everything. Afterwards he trained him in Symphony of Sorcery and was sent on missions across the worlds in which his master sensed danger like Country of Musketeers, finally BBS happens a few years after he met Minnie.

    > Why didn't the Dandelions restore the World in his original state?

To prevent the Keyblade War from happening a second time, restoring worlds one by one created the Ocean Between which is known by Keyblade Wielders only (supposedly), so it's the perfect solution.
Also they couldn't, it must've required an insane amount of light (Lux) to save consumed worlds only, they even probably didn't restored all of them, so the original World is out of question.

    > Why can't a Gummi Ship travel to the Realm of Darkness?

The KH Universe is divided into three (major) planes of existence, the Realm of Light is at the top, the Realm of Darkness is at the bottom and the Realm Between "connects" the two.
The Realm of Light's worlds are connected by the Ocean Between, the Realm of Darkness's worlds by land, the Realm Between's worlds is a little bit of both, depending on where they're placed, closer to light or darkness.

So, the worlds of the Realm of Darkness are not connected to the Ocean Between therefore can't be accessible with the Gummi Ship.

The correct way would be to find a world extending from one Realm to another, accessible by land and the Ocean Between: Twilight Town was said to be right in the middle but it's unknown if it's connected to the Realm of Darkness, probably not.

    > Did Ansem's artificial Kingdom Hearts contained ALL of the consumed worlds's hearts or only those consumed after its creation?

It only contained the hearts of the worlds consumed after its creation. Ansem's Kingdom Hearts was connected to the Door to Darkness (this is why he called the door "Kingdom Hearts", because its linked to it), this Kingdom Hearts acted as a "net" who took the worlds's hearts who passed through the Door to Darkness. Sealing the Door to Darkness destroyed his Kingdom Hearts, and freed the worlds trapped in it.

    > Was the Door to Darkness actually Kingdom Hearts?

No, it wasn't, if you look closely, you can see a heart shape behind the door: THIS is Kingdom Hearts, the Door to Darkness is connected to Kingdom Hearts.
Through the Door is the Realm of Darkness whereas behind the door is the artificial Kingdom Hearts. When Ansem asked "Kingdom Hearts" to fill him with darkness, darkness started pouring out from the Realm of Darkness, not from Kingdom Hearts, and when Sora shouted "Kingdom Hearts...is Light!", Kingdom Hearts shone from behind the door, which destroyed Ansem because he is a Heartless.

    > Was the Door to Darkness artificial?

No, Xehanort mentions in his report the Keyblade of Hearts came into existence after the separation of the worlds. Since the Keyblade of Hearts is necessary to unlock the Door to Darkness, it's natural that it appeared at the same time. It's original role is to usher the worlds into the Realm of Darkness, so Ansem connected his Kingdom Hearts to it so that it takes the worlds's hearts from the process and absorbs them in it.

    > Where are the worlds consumed before BBS?

They are in the Realm of Darkness, they did not get restored along with the other worlds because they are not linked to Ansem's Kingdom Hearts.

    > How do consumed worlds before BBS get restored?

Most of the time, a world falls asleep when he gets consumed, in that case, a Keyblade Wielder needs to enter that world's dream to unlock what is called a "Sleeping Keyhole" to wake it up and restore it.
Like Ansem SoD mentioned, darkness holds sleep, so the worlds's hearts are trapped by their own sleep and their bodies are either in a limbo state (Artificial KH) or still in the Realm of Darkness (pre-BBS consumption).

    > Why does Vanitas look like Sora?

Because Sora filled the darkness that was taken away from Ventus's body with his own heart, Vanitas's appearence was altered and now looks like Sora.
In other words, Vanitas is linked to Ventus because he's where his heart comes from, so he looked like Ventus when he was born, but when Sora took the place in Ventus's heart that belonged to Vanitas, Vanitas's appearence changed according to whoever took that place, which is Sora in this case.

Should I play through The Story so Far before KH3?

So I own The Story so Far and KH3. I've watched the story so far videos that were in the KH3 menu, so I've gotten caught up on the story, and I'm going to play through all of it eventually, but I want to start KH3 and not wait until 200+ hours of playing before getting to it.

    Yozora and his moveset [Spoilers]

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 11:04 PM PDT

A few days ago I finally beat Yozora after taking a break from doing the data battles to play FF7R. Something about Yozora's moveset is interesting and I haven't seen any discussion about his moves. Now it could just be entirely a gameplay thing where he is just a comprehensive check of all the fights in Limit Cut, in which case then it's just purely coincidence but I believe that his moveset should have a focus and is worth discussion.

Yozora uses moves similar to the characters related to Xehanort but in his own style. Sort of how Dark Riku and Ansem SoD have a couple of similar attacks with the claws that come out during both fights and same thing with Master Xehanort having his clones from his younger self.

I have noticed that Yozora has moves from Ansem SoD, Xemnas, Terranort, Vanitas, Xion, Young Xehanort and Master Xehanort.

Ansem: Yozora usually starts with red laser attacks from a distance that you have to block. The first thing in the Ansem fight you have to do is block the lasers while Ansem is in the distance. Also the last part of Yozora's dm is similar to Ansem's "SHADOWWWWW" attack where if you get sucked in the bubble you either die or are at least one hit.

Xemnas: The unblockable blue lasers from his dm and his movement when he attacks. In the Yozora fight the blue unblockables are now part of his normal arsenal. Also there's an attack where he swings his sword at you in a similar motion to how Xemnas uses his kick attacks and the movement and blocking of them has the same awkwardness, but this part might be a reach.

Vanitas: After Yozora's 3 prism attacks, after the third one, Yozora will move in a similar fashion teleporting like Vanitas when he's throwing fireballs and says "Too Slow" before attacking with his sword.

Young Xehanort: The constant clones that fake you out as if about to swing before the real one attacks you. Yozora does the same thing frequently in the second phase of the fight. Also just like Young Xehanort, Yozora can drain your health.

Terranort: When Yozora brings out the sphere and changes the field into a planetarium, the floor has the same effect as Terranort's "DARK TIMES AHEAD" attack

Xion: I know she isn't really related to Xehanort in any meaningful way but he does share attacks with her where if any of the pillars touched you, your health would be cut. Instead of blue pillars cutting your health down he charges up his weapon and will make slices that cut your health.

Master Xehanort: The second part of the DM the field turns white and clones attack you just like how Master Xehanort's field turns gray and shadow clones attack you from all over and it is almost exactly like Xehanort's shadow clones. Also there's a mixture of his and Xemnas attacks in the dm. Instead of Ultima Cannons shooting at you out of reach they are replaced by one red laser then 2 blue lasers in the exact same way the Ultima cannons are shot in Xehanort's fight and you either have to dodge forward or to the side.

Now like I said this could all be a coincidence or just the game putting everything you've learned so far into one fight. But at the same time he has attacks from the Xehanort's (and Xion) and no other data fight that I've noticed. Unknown has a snippet of Forze Del Male in his song to signify that he may be related to Ansem. Lingering Will had a keyblade, a move similar to Ars Arcanum, and locked you out of commands just like Unknown did in Kh1 to signify that he was related in some way. Mysterious figure had ethereal blades just like Unknown, instead of locking you out of commands, he scatters them, uses Doom like Marluxia and uses Raging Storm like a keyblade wielder to hint that he may be related to some characters we knew, so it isn't out of the possibility that his moveset isn't just a test for the player. Especially when he can take Sora's keyblade and use it against you.

I don't really have any theories on who he could be or why he has these moves but I just wanted to throw it out there that even though it could be a coincidence for the player to use all past knowledge up until Yozora, I think there's something more to it and him being able to take Sora's power may be a start. Hell, maybe the trials he went through were his own versions of data battles and that's how he's able to use moves like that? Maybe after every fight he acquires something new to use?
