KH: 1 Theory: Clayton Was the Very First Nobody Sora & Gang Faced

    Posted: 27 May 2020 08:45 AM PDT

Tbh, I don't even consider this a "theory" due to the heavy amount of evidence supporting that it may be true.

    1. Clayton was driven and devoted to hunting down Gorillas, giving in to the darkness in his heart. (A strong will falling to darkness).
    2. After he'd been ratted out by Sora & Gang, Clayton left the tent and was ambushed by Sabor (the leopard), and the scene cuts right after Clayton fires at him. (It is implied that Sabor killed Clayton right on the spot, and it is here where Clayon's heart was split into a heartless and a nobody.
    3. Sora & Gang find Clayton's pipe (something he's never without) but no trace of Clayton. (Because he's dead and his nobody had come back to abduct Jane in the tent).
    4. Stealth Sneak (the invisible lizard) is Clayton's heartless.
    5. The "Clayton" we fight in the boss battle is actually his nobody. Tarzan even says "no heart."
    6. Given what we know about nobodies and heartless, Clayton's original self had been restored after his nobody/heartless had been defeated (but we'll never know for sure).
    7. If Clayton's nobody had been discovered by Org XIII, what do you think his anagram would have been?

A rather strange theory for the lack of a proper Lilo & Stitch World in Kingdom Hearts

    Posted: 27 May 2020 01:33 PM PDT

Stitch & his franchise are no stranger to the Kingdom Hearts series, having been represented in BBS with a full-on world & with a cameo/summon in KH2 & KH3 (with medals appearing in KHUX). However, despite all of these appearances, we have yet to properly travel to Hawaii, the primary location of the film, in a Kingdom Hearts game. Stitch's world in BBS opted instead to adapt the first 5 minutes of the film for Deep Space, foregoing the visit to Hawaii entirely. While many people theorize that the setting of Hawaii would be too redundant of a location with Destiny Islands existing, or that Moana would be a stronger contender for a future Island-based level in the games, there is another rather strange reason that not too many people have often considered.

This reason is going to sound really weird, but in terms of adapting Stitch into Kingdom Hearts, I believe that the developers of Kingdom Hearts wanted to incorporate the popular Stitch character & his world into the games while avoiding any mention or appearance of Lilo at the same time, hence why they forgo the visit to Hawaii.

I'll admit that I personally don't believe all of this to be entirely true but according to the evidence, at least during the time of BBS's release, for as much as they loved Stitch, Japan seemed to really, really dislike Lilo. I'm not entirely sure of what the specificities are but she rarely appears alongside Stitch in any of the Disney Parks outside of America and with the exception of an appearance in Disney Magical World 2, there's not a ton of internationally-made spin-off content or merchandise that really features her either. Many people overseas didn't agree with Lilo's behavior of throwing tantrums, disobeying rules & hiding in a dryer (a scene that was reedited to her hiding in a cupboard & pizza box).

Most of her detractors wished that the film had a different protagonist, hence the possible creation of the Stitch anime (simply titled Stitch!) in which Stitch runs away from Hawaii and moves to Japan to be friends with a new girl named Yuna Kamihara who behaved nothing like Lilo. (Fun fact: Stitch's dub voice in this anime is done by Ben Diskin, the voice of Young Xehanort). Another spin-off for the show created for Chinese audiences was called Stitch & Ai, where Stitch was yet again, separated from Lilo by a gang of aliens & ends up in China where he befriends a girl named Wang Ai Ling (with Stitch being dubbed once again by Ben Diskin).

Other countries have different standards of what they want to show their kids and they probably weren't okay with exposing their children to Lilo's unpredictable nature. I personally don't agree with the idea of Lilo being a bad role model for children, but I hope that this answer explains a potential reason as to why Lilo is often neglected in media outside of the Lilo & Stitch film & TV series, which includes Kingdom Hearts.

For BBS specifically, perhaps they also thought that Hawaii would be too redundant when they already had Destiny Islands, despite not being playable. But if the world of Lilo & Stitch is ever incorporated into a Kingdom Hearts game, you can bet that it won't be named Hawaii as the series also tries to avoid naming worlds after real-life locations such as China into Land of Dragons, Pleasure Island into Prankster's Paradise and Paris into La Cite De Cloches (Hawaii may however be name-dropped in the script).

Again, a lot of this is still subject to be unlikely, and all of this is most likely not the main reason for Hawaii's absence, as many other factors have to be considered as well, but I just wanted to share some possible explanations as to why Stitch is represented in Kingdom Hearts the way he currently is. It is still likely that this will all change & Lilo (along with her world) will eventually appear in a future Kingdom Hearts title.

TL;DR: There has yet to be a proper Lilo & Stitch World in Kingdom Hearts due to Japan's aversion towards Lilo.
