Leaked test for kingdom hearts 4

So how do you think things are going in the realm of darkness for our broken family trio? I like to think by now Terra has trusted 12 different heartless, Ven has probably separated because he wants to be more adult and Aqua is having severe ptsd. It sounds like a fun time

‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ manga release date: Official English version of Volume 1 confirmed to arrive in November - EconoTimes

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 09:28 PM PDT

Why Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently my all-time favorite game in the franchise.

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 10:56 AM PDT

Just wanted to finally get this story off my chest. No worries at all if this is too long to read through, just wanted to share my story.

I've been a fan of this franchise since I was a child in 2005. Initially only interested in the Disney content (specifically Stitch & Chicken Little lol) and only relatively interested in the story, I've grown to love the original content of the franchise over the years. And characters like Sora, Roxas, Riku and many others were the reason why I kept coming back. The fact that most of them have had the same voice actors for nearly 2 decades have only strengthen their authenticity. They all really helped shape the way I form connections with others & accepting myself for who I am which was a really great lesson for a child like me.

Kingdom Hearts 2 was my favorite game for many years & the one that I would boot up & play on my PS2 daily. Loved the hell out of that game & I still do. Back then, I was too young to productively engage with the online community but on all the discussion forums, I would constantly see KH2 get trashed on for its gameplay, story, characters, tutorial, level design, Disney content etc. Pretty much my first real experience with seeing criticism towards something I loved.

When KH3 was announced in 2013, people had so many hopes, desires, fears & above all, expectations for the game, including myself. A lot of stuff happened in all of our lives between 2013 & 2019. And as I went through a lot of challenges & relationships during those years, Kingdom Hearts was the one thing that remained relevant & consistent in my life. The year before KH3's release however, had been the most difficult time in my life. Friendships were ending, relationships were severing, responsibilities became more adult, my family and my home were hundreds of miles away & life in general was changing without any warning. My expectations towards my career & my relationships were very high which cause the quality of my life & those around me to suffer.

With all these hardships being sprung onto me, I still remembered that despite how different my world had become, for better or for worse, I remembered that the one thing that hadn't changed was my love for Kingdom Hearts & all of the lessons that the games taught & the doors that it helped to open. The series, in all of its cheesiness and convolutedness, did a lot more for me personally than I ever expected it to do. And given that I no longer wanted my expectations of what something could be to ruin the things that I loved for what they were, I decided to invest more in making my experience with KH3 the one that I needed the most in these difficult times. The one where I accept the game I was excited towards for what it was, instead of what it could be, similar to how I engaged with every other game in the franchise.

So with that in mind with KH3, I continuously followed the development, watched every trailer, replayed every game, read all the interviews, reviewed all the lore, reeducated myself on game development, watched all the Disney movies/properties represented in KH3 (the biggest factor that helped me love the hell out of KH3) & probably some other stuff too to maximize my engagement with the game.

The game came out and I threw a celebration with my friends, siblings & roommates before taking time off to immerse myself with the game. Needless to say, the game blew me away, to the point where it's hard to talk about it without being subjective. The graphics were all kinds of incredible. The worlds were incredibly expansive & detailed, especially after watching the source films. The amazing music score had unique compositions for each cutscene. The characters were so much fun to watch, Sora's mobility and combat had so much variety & I was always entertained. The quality of life editions like NPCs, idle animations, field dialogue, no fish-faces & additional party members were so very appreciated. The gameplay mechanics introduced something new in each & every world. Re-playability options kept me coming back to the game. The Disney Worlds tied into the main plot in a thematically beautiful way. Little things like Classic Kingdom & the Gummiphone gave the game so much personality. Many of the cast members were the original voice actors or role reprisals from years back (including someone who I met during my university life). And the ReMind DLC added so many great additions like additional playable characters, more story, expanded Scala, Super-bosses, the underappreciated Data Greeting & the Guardians/Mickey vs Xehanort Replica battle which was a sequence that was peak Kingdom Hearts and instantly iconic.

Was the game perfect? Objectively no, not in the slightest. Did the game have several issues? Absolutely. But just like the criticisms of KH2, none of the problems of KH3 were enough to ruin my enjoyment of the game. Tampering my expectations, putting in effort towards maximizing my engagement & accepting the game for what it offered instead of what it could have been had a huge effect on my opinion towards it. KH3 was exactly what I needed to reinvigorate myself & make the new life I found myself in much better.

This game has been scrutinized for a year and a half. To the point where I took a year off from discussing the game to not let all of the negativity & cynicism affect me. And I'd be lying if I said the criticisms never did get to me due to how I engaged with the game before & after its release. But that was exactly it. Not everyone experienced KH3 the same way that I did. Some people walked into it thinking that it would be just like KH2 or better. Some people had different expectations of what they wanted to see & get focused on. Some people had probably never even played any of the other games besides 1 & 2 before they played KH3. Or even worse, KH3 was their very first experience with the franchise. Many people would list their issues with the game without realizing that they were criticizing aspects of the franchise that can be found in every single game, not just KH3. Yet they would always still forgive the very similar (and in some cases worse) problems/issues of say, KH2, for offering them an experience that resonated the most with them. Even though it felt like I was in Bizzaro World where KH2's flaws make the game a "masterpiece" while KH3's similar flaws make it a "complete failure", this sentiment towards KH2 is pretty similar to how I approach the issues that KH3 has.

While I disagree that KH3 was objectively bad, I can see where people are coming from whenever they call the game disappointing given that I over-prepared myself for what KH3 was going to offer. But I also learned that disappointing doesn't always equal bad. And I think that's an important lesson for all of us to learn & take with us wherever we go. Despite all of that, it's so weird how I'm already nostalgic for a game that isn't even 5 years old yet. And I can personally say with confidence, that above every other game in this series, KH3 was the best Kingdom Hearts experience that I have ever had in my 15 years of following, loving & growing up with this franchise. I hope that more people will come to focus less on the flaws & appreciate its brilliance as the years go by, just as KH2 went through before KH3. Or at the very least, give the game another chance with all these thoughts in mind. I'm grateful that it exists & I'm glad that I survived all of these many life challenges to play it. And I'm excited to see where the franchise goes & how it'll continue to improve from this point forward

Is the Master of Masters a Heartless?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 03:12 PM PDT

Just putting it here to see if it'd make sense.

He kept wearing the black robes that protect against Darkness even while the world was only light. Could it mean the robe isn't meant to protect him from darkness, but to keep his darkness from being exposed?

I'm sure smarter people can dig a bit and find more clues about it.

Plus, if the MoM is a heartless, he could have a Nobody and if they are seperate people, they might not have the same memories and thus it opens lots of possibilities for people to be related to the MoM's Nobody. Like Demyx for instance, who doesn't know what his MoM Heartless counterpart was doing maybe?

It's all baseless conjecture of course, but an interesting topic I hope and may create constructive debate in the comments.

    New Player Here

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 11:23 PM PDT

I just started playing KH1 and boy is it fun. Right now I'm in Agrabah, and I really want to start playing without an online guide. I started playing without a guide, but eventually, after wandering around in Traverse Town for hours, I decided to resort to a guide. I used it specifcally in Wonderland (I don't know how anyone could do that without some help) and Deep Jungle, and now I really want to let go of it. I feel like I fully understand how the game works and how the exploration works now, and I currently am doing perfectly fine without it in Agrabah (though I needed it once to enter the Desert).

Will I need to use a guide for any of the other harder worlds/fights after Deep Jungle, or can I safely stop using it now?

    Spoilers - Black box related

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 06:07 PM PDT

In KH3, the keyblade graveyard area you fly through in your gummy ship (The eclipse) Has that huge black ship in the middle. If you notice on the sides of it there are what looks like EKG lines around it colored red. That ship or whatever it is looks a lot like the Black box. I feel like the EKG/Heart rate pulses around the box are a hint. Like a heart is in the box. Further fueling the many theories of the MOM's heart being in the box. Has anyone else noticed that?
