I found another article by someone that doesn't even know what they're talking about. Posted: 29 Oct 2020 06:21 PM PDT Please do read this beauty for yourself, it's genuinely breathtaking. When I saw a negative take on the newest game of the series, of course I had to see what the complaint was about. Now I don't know the author, so maybe this is some form of satire... I doubt it though, it's just so damn good. "We had to wait for 14 years for KH3" No we did not. It doesn't go 1 2 3, there were other stories that needed to be explained, if you went in that order you wouldn't know the story of half the entire cast. You weren't sat waiting for 14 years, and the team wasn't working on that game for 14 years. I find it funny that one of the mocking remarks is "who made this franchise? Ansem? Xehanort?" When you wouldn't have known who Xehanort even was without BBS, a game this "journalist" thinks is a side/cash grab game. It's great irony. He goes on about the typical "KH3 isn't really that good" which is a matter of opinion so it's whatever. I personally disagree Then there's the whole "KH is so childish! And adults probably won't care when they're older" Which isn't even remotely true, that game series has some of the most darkest stories to be told, people are straight up forgotten, lost from memory, people straight up die. THERE WAS A WHOLE ASS CHILD WAR! Like, how, just how is any of that childish? I don't understand. And then the last one I'll hit on "We probably won't see a proper sequel until 2025 AT LEAST but will the fans really care about it? I'm not so sure". Says the man that knows next to nothing about the franchise and fanbase he's talking about. I am legit continually coming back to scan it to make sure I didn't miss something that indicates that this is a joke of a take, because there's no way this is real. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Oct 2020 10:38 PM PDT Apologies for the length, I just wanted to cover all my bases. Brief history to explain my thought process on this. Sometime between late 2016 and early 2018, I decided to look more critically at the mechanics of dual wielding. This was sparked by a YT argument I was in concerning dual wielding where I quoted this line from the BBS Ultimania: ["Sora can wield two keyblades at once because he has Ventus' as well as his own. As Roxas is a part of Sora, he also can use two. In Days Roxas awakened his ability to dual wield after fighting Xion. In KHII once Sora absorbs him, he can also dual-wield. Roxas awakens his ability to dual-wield with his will to not forget Xion who also wielded a keyblade."](https://www.khinsider.com/news/BBS-Ultimania-20-Mysteries-Solved-2546) I used this as evidence of dual wielding requiring two hearts to work, but the person I was arguing against said that the quote didn't say that two hearts was necessary to dual wield. I dropped out of the argument soon after that, but sometime later I found myself thinking about the quote again, and realized it really didn't say that two hearts were a requirement to dual wielding; it didn't even mention hearts at all. Now at this point, I was still inclined to believe that "two hearts" was the requirement for dual wielding, and decided to look through more interviews and search in-game info to see there was more concrete evidence...and found nothing. Nothing that either confirmed or denied that dual wielding required two hearts. The only evidence that dual wielding required two hearts was that the only known dual wielders in the series are Sora, someone we know for a fact has two hearts, and Roxas, someone who might have two hearts (that's another can of worms), which on its own isn't really strong evidence. Around this point, i'm reading threads about whether Sora and Roxas will lose dual wielding when Ven gets his heart back or will the series retcon in some way for them to keep it, and I start questioning why dual wielding needed to be some unique ability that only Sora/Roxas can use, especially when other Keyblade related abilities don't seem to be unique to anyone. Not saying that I thought other characters should dual wield, just that there didn't need to be a special reason for why they didn't. By the time 2018 rolls around, I've all but abandoned the "dual wielding requiring two hearts" narrative, but decided to wait until KHIII properly released and confirmed or denied my suspicions. It did neither. Okay, it somewhat confirmed it, but not in a way I felt was concrete enough, as they seemed to open more questions, but by this point I was fully off the "two hearts" train, so it didn't bother me that much. Following this, I get into into a few arguments concerning dual wielding where I give the above reasoning for why I don't think it needs two hearts. Later on, in one brief argument I got into on the subject earlier this year, someone linked me to the KH Memorial Ultimania translations which does state that two hearts are necessary to have two Keyblades: So that settles it right? Dual wielding Keyblades needs two hearts, plain and simple. Well, look at that quote again, it says that the amount of Keyblades one has is equal to the amount of Hearts they have, but that's contradicted by the games themselves. During BBS's Final Episode, Aqua has two Keyblades in her possession despite only having one heart. Mickey also has two Keyblades from the end of KH1 to KH3 and would alternate between them following the events of KH2. Since this passage is contradicted by the games (and is not a direct quote from Nomura), I'm inclined to disregard it as an error made by someone influenced by fan opinion. I start avoiding the arguments after a while, because I'm getting tired of arguing with twenty people at once over something that may not have a definitive answer. Enter Bio-Roxas' [KH2 Limit Breakdown](http:// https://youtube.com/watch?v=JE-KoupWuLo) from earlier this year, where I see the detail that would convince me 100% that two hearts weren't a requirement for dual wielding: Riku dual wields his and Sora's Keyblades. It's only for a brief moment, but Riku is wielding two Keyblades simultaneously, despite not having another heart inside of him. And so far, no one else has mentioned it in arguments concerning dual wielding (I made a brief post on GameFAQs about it when I first saw it, but I wasn't in the mood to argue back then). So, to put it simply, I don't believe dual wielding requiring two hearts was ever a rule/explanation of the canon. Rather it was a fan explanation that got accepted as fan canon, because it "made sense" on the surface, and there was seemingly nothing that contradicted it. An explanation that made KH seem more seem more convoluted than it really was. Oh, the irony. But that's just my view on it. [link] [comments]
