Imagine the setting of Kingdom Hearts in a hypothetical "Post World Order" era.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 06:52 PM PST

I've been watching streams of Birth by Sleep and I started thinking about the whole World Order thing. Then a thought occurred to me, what would the setting of Kingdom Hearts be like in an era without the world order restriction? This wouldn't necessarily be like the Union era where all the worlds are connected but their existence still needs to be kept secret. I mean an era where the worlds are separated, but their existence is known by everyone and travel between them is common place. Scrooge Mckduck and Mickey wanted to do something like that in the period between BBS and Kh1, but it didn't go through. But imagine if something like that did happen eventually.

Of course with interdimensional travel between worlds being common, there is also the threat of villains from other worlds wanting to cause trouble. In this case, there would have to be a larger organization responsible for maintaining order throughout the cosmos. I think it would be interesting to have the Galactic Federation from Lilo and Stitch fulfill that role. Maybe along with the miscellaneous aliens from the original movie, there could be individuals from other worlds as well, like some Final Fantasy style humans or Disney style animals. Maybe the GF could also have some keyblade wielders as high ranking members. Also, I feel like Treasure Planet would work really well in this type of setting. Imagine seeing people from all over the universe at the Crescentia space station from the movie.

I feel like this sort of era would be interesting to see in the hypothetical future of Kingdom Hearts. It would be like a neat compromise to reconnecting the worlds; the worlds may not be literally one anymore, but they are now reconnected through its people. Who knows, maybe Sora is the one responsible for encouraging this mindset of reconnecting the worlds via the people. This setting might also be interesting in a Kingdom Hearts MMO or something. What do you think? What would a post "Keep the worlds separate" era look like in Kingdom Hearts.

A Keyblade Wielder's Thoughts On The Keyblade: 1st Entry

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 10:49 PM PST

The Keyblade is not a sword, nor is it an axe. The Keyblade is a key; a key to friendship, discipline and protection. It is also a type of key in the literal sense.

    I will elucidate:

•A Key To Friendship: When people see a real Keyblade, they comment on it. They're (Especially the Kingdom Key) not particularly intimidating, even to those unfamiliar with the franchise that bears them, and they stand out in a positive way. What does a key symbolize? Trust and the opening of doors, amongst other things.

Strangers oftentimes see me walking with my Keyblade and either comment on/inquire about it, or toss me a compliment or clever reference to the franchise that we love in common: someone 'casted cure' on me in passing when I was walking with my Keyblade one night.

People are likely to talk with you about your Keyblade, and that can open a door to friendship.

•A Key To Discipline: With the form of the Keyblade comes its history, both fictional and factual, the latter Square might be alluding to with the ancient Keyblade wielders featured in Kingdom Hearts χ, especially the Foretellers: Key symbolism in real life dates back to Ancient Egypt, where they used wooden keys and came up with the concept and depiction of the Ankh, the "Key of Life" or "Key To The Nile". That's in addition to common perceptions of the key, which may be used to achieve security, gain entry, or as a weapon in times of desperation.

Learning this history of keys and Keyblades benefits you in the sense that you'll not only be able to answer questions regarding your Keyblade, but also be exposed to varied spiritual perceptions, ideals and superstitions, broadening your horizons.

A real Keyblade also has a considerable amount of weight and a somewhat fantastical design.

It may seem impractical even to experienced swordsmen, but this is where an important distinction is made between wielders: A Keyblade requires effort, strength, intuition, humility and tenacity to wield effectively, let alone master.

You have to accept that in the beginning of your time with your Keyblade, any swordsman worth his salt will be either able to beat you or require a significant effort to defeat.

You also have to accept that some people might think that you look silly.

However, the elusive partner of practice, mastery, will always reveal itself to you for brief moments at a time during your endeavors, spurring you onward to your destiny and bestowing upon you the fruits of effort, one bite at a time.

•A Key To Protection: As I previously stated, a Keyblade (besides certain exceptions like Ultima Weapon) is not a sword, nor is it an axe; it resembles a key. This allows you to carry one without scaring/intimidating people and disturbing the peace around you. Police don't look twice at giant keys unless you're being reckless.

This ties back into Discipline in the sense you have have to be responsible with your Keyblade and never use it to attack someone unprovoked or to intimidate, lest you earn a negative reputation for Keyblades and your fellow and future wielders, and/or get yourself in trouble. On the other hand, a solid looking Keyblade might make a mugger think twice, and the Keyblade itself offers robust offensive and defensive capabilities, which I will describe in detail in a future post.

•A Key: A Keyblade can be used like a crowbar to pry latches off of doors from the inside, but you didn't hear that from me.

That's all for me for now. I'll be in touch when I have more to say. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

    Any discussion is welcome.

Were you Ok with Roxas Returning?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:09 PM PST

I love Roxas Soo much and actually my second favorite character and I'm happy he returned but to tell you the truth his return felt like a fan service (similar to 0.2 cause I felt the game had no reason to exist, it served no purpose other than to give Aqua more screen time, and I'm really sorry but explaining why Mickey was shirtless isn't important to the plot😂 at least Re:Coded gave us something valuable like Data instead of a naked mouse), Roxas Namine and Xion, when they disappeared they didn't exactly die, we were told in kh2 Roxas and Namine were happy after learning they won't fade, they are simply gonna go back to being whole again with their original selfs, so it wasn't really sad ending for them but a bittersweet one cause they were ok with being with their original selfs, I feel Axel too, his sacrifice was good and didn't really need to return.

this is just a curious question, but were you happy he/they (counting the girls and Axel too) are back or Not?

Now that he has returned I don't mind if he only plays small roles as long as he stays relevant from time to time in the story and not just completely forgotten.

What's your take? KH3 is really elegant and grand, while KH2 scores the simplicity points.
