KH Newbie. Very scared of What I Got Myself Into

    Posted: 06 May 2021 01:15 PM PDT

So I saw that The Kingdom Hearts collection was on sale for $30 on PS Store and thought it was a great deal so I grabbed it. I've never played these games before and I had no idea what I was getting myself into...

So I thought I was buying a remastered 3 game bundle. Boy was I wrong! There is like 13 games!! Holy crap. Some are movies and some are DS games like whaaaat?

SOOO I got super stoned and played the first 6 hours of KH1 and ohmygooodnesss what a trip. What in the actually fooook have I gotten myself into. I absolutely love it. BUT! I did the math and now I have at least 140 more hours of KH if I want to enjoy and understand the whole story of this trippy and insane world.

I get the hype KH fans. Wow how cool it would have been to have played this on my ps2 originally and grown up with this property!

Sorry for the quality, took a pic of my screen. Does anyone else wish that this game gave the option of switching between KH2/3 look and even when transforming to keep the original look instead of changing it to “match” the key blade?

This machine from KH1 has 5 pods. Let’s say that all 5 pods are used before RG becomes Hollow Bastion. Who do you think used them?

    Question About 1.5+2.5 Version Number

    Posted: 06 May 2021 11:36 PM PDT

It's called version 1.0.0.6_WW, so does that mean it's had a patch to fix some bugs or is that the version of the game that released on EGS?

This may sound off topic, but which RPG game is better, because both final fantasy X And kingdom hearts 1 came out in 2001 and 2002 respectively?

Lingering Will is absolutely not a fair boss fight.

    Posted: 06 May 2021 10:54 PM PDT

Is it impossible to win? No, but it absolutely does require luck. I'm kinda a glutton for difficult content. I have 600+ hours in Dark Souls 3 and 200+ in every other Dark Souls title, so I'm going to go out on a ledge and say I have a decent understanding between difficult but fair and absolute bullshit. Lingering Will is bullshit. He can lock your attacks or magic with no way out. How is that fair? Want to not be able to attack him at all? Or do you want to not be able to heal or use items? Both of which are a must for beating this boss. Stringing combos you literally CANNOT get out of if you are in mid-air. He ends combos so far away from you 99% of the time you can't get anywhere neer him before he opens up another combo again.

I would be absolutely astonished if anyone on the planet can beat this boss reliably. That's what makes it unfair. There is no "reliable" way to beat this boss. Yes you can counter most of his moveset, but there are combos that WILL kill you no matter what you do.

When a boss requires luck and good RNG, it's a poorly designed boss. Does that mean you shouldn't enjoy it? No, if you like this boss, more power to you, but I want to study, figure out his openings, and win when the odds are stacked against you. Not get lucky he didn't lock my commands.

I don't claim to be the Kingdom Hearts know it all. In fact, I've only played 1 & 2, so if I am missing something vital, like a strategy for unlocking my commands, please feel free to correct me. I welcome strategies that maybe I haven't thought of, but nothing comes to mind for a viable counter for some of his attacks. I'm mashing guard, saving heals for when Once More and Second Chance are procked. I'm summoning and using my forms when I get cornered and need them. I'm trying different spells and reflect timing but nothing is guaranteed to keep me alive.

Like I've said, I'm no stranger to mashing my head on a wall on a boss. I've played Sekiro to NG+7 all bosses. Can you honestly say Lingering Will compares to Isshin Sword Saint? Isshin on NG+7 is almost a mistake free fight, meaning if your timing is off, it's a good chance you're going to die. Lingering will is just a wait and hope game. Try and counter long enough for you to find an opening to punish and hope he doesn't use some of his unfair moves.

Here are some things I'm having trouble with so if you have an answer, please feel free to share.

    • Is bomb. He throws it at you and if you send it back, he sends it back. I've never once been able to hit him with it or even knock it away. It ALWAYS comes at me. The best counter I have is dashing through it will negate the damage. If he does 2? I have no clue.

    • Locking attack or magic/items. Am I missing something that frees me from this? I don't see any reaction commands and I have yet to survive long enough to see if it eventually goes away.

    • Mid-air chain combos. I can time a counter to negate the damage of one, but I can't get to the ground to cast reflect or block. Usually my MP Guage is on cooldown as I need healing.

Everything else is manageable. His damage is fair for having Once More and Second chance but yeah. It's very frustrating.

Edit: thanks for the tips and tricks guys. I was a bit hasty to say it's not winnable sometimes. Just because I couldn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't there.

No matter what I do, I cannot beat Ursula second form.

I've tried everything. Grinding, synthesizing, equipment, strategy, everything but she kills me when she only has half her HP left because I no longer have items. Please help me how to beat her. :(

It’s so funny this keeps happening to me.

Every time I play Kingdom Hearts 2 and revisit Twilight Town, I actually believe I'll be able to see Kairi in time if I'm fast enough. Every time, I'm reminded that Axel carried her away before I got there. I don't know why I keep thinking this. Maybe I just really want to reunite Sora with his friend.

    Kingdom hearts wedding

    Posted: 06 May 2021 10:28 AM PDT

Mods, please remove this if it isn't allowed

(●'◡'●)ノ Hello! So I'm newly engaged and my fiancé and I are hoping to do a KH themed wedding. I have no idea what a wedding is supposed to be like, I've only seen them on TV, in films or video games so I'm kinda intimidated. We want to keep it classy and subtle nothing over the top & crazy like us cosplaying or having a keyblade battle as our first dance. I'm open to any recommendations/ideas about decor, music, outfits, or whatever comes to mind. Below I listed some things that we decided on already.

    Things that are decided:

my MOH will be taking style/color ques from Kairi & the best man will do the same with Sora

I'll be Namine & my future hubby will be Roxas

Bridal March will be replaced wit Dearly Beloved (KH2 version)

KH themed rings my engagement ring is a paopu fruit & my fiance will have the oath keeper ring

I'd like the venue to look like the world map (galaxy lighting, starry lights & the tables being different worlds)

No flowery centerpieces (I'm not a huge fan of flowers & the wedding is in December)

Yeah that's all I got. It's a huge mess I know but some help would be greatly appreciated.
