Starting my true Kingdom Hearts journey

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:05 PM PDT

I bought a PS4 Pro and the All in One collection a few days ago, and now I'm finally gonna sink my teeth into this series. I've played through the first game and started Chain of Memories, but never got further than that. I've always wanted to get into this series because the music somehow makes me feel incredibly nostalgic (despite not playing them until just a few years ago). Here's hoping I can see this through to the end!

    Idea about the Foretellers Masks

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 06:51 PM PDT

Do you think the reason that the Master of Masters have the Foretellers wear masks to make sure that the Darknesses within them are kept under control so they can't take them over?

In 358/2 Days, Riku covers his eyes to control his Darkness within him.

was watching Days and this popped into my head.

I'm trying to find the wristband that Roxas wears and I need a little help

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:49 PM PDT

I've tried looking online for black/white checkered wristbands but none of them are ever exactly what I'm looking for. I would normally just accept that maybe the type of wristband Roxas wears just doesn't exist in that form but I have seen images and videos of people wearing the type of wristband that I'd be looking for.

When I look online, most of the time, I'll find this kind of wristband:

    https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/411dqzMIeIL._AC_.jpg

But the one I'm looking for is usually a little longer and made out of a different kind of fabric. So does something like that exist or have the ones I've seen just been modified in some way?

Okay, why do so many people get frustrated at fights that they MAKE hard themselves?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 08:26 PM PDT

"MF with Terra at LV1 is hard." DUH SHIT HE'S GOING TO BE HARD AT LV1 WITH SOMEONE AS IMMOBILE AS TERRA!!! Like do the people who say stuff like this as a complaint, not see the problem? Like BBS is clunky as hell and the command system is often a pain in the ass, but the game is an rpg where you have to be active in getting things to build your character. If you die in one hit because you're level 1 without Once More and you get angry when it happens, it's honestly on you.

Edit:I'm probably going to make a post later to argue with the Community.

Why people specifically complains about KH3 Disney worlds?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:03 AM PDT

Not talking about overall quality of them, as they are the biggest and with the most stuff they ever had, I'm talking plot wise.

Disney Worlds in 3, majority of them shared a common theme that was very important for Sora at the end: Sacrificing for others, Flynn prefering to die to save Rapunzel, Anna getting in the path of a sword and freezing to save Elsa, Hiro realizing that is better to destroy the chip and start from 0 (though he didn't feel that way about the battle chip in the movie... but even then the theme stays here.)

Sora remembers the characters happy with their loved ones happy after their sacrifice, which I'm sure probably weighted on his decision to take the ultimate sacrifice.

And even then, Disney worlds plot wise... they are still more than in 2, at least org keeps appearing, revealing details about the new Lights, data, hearts and such.

Meanwhile, in KH2, the worlds are actual filler. Besides being boring hallways, nothing happens, we open the world Gates... just to get to more worlds where we open the gates, Demyx appeared a bit in Olympus to steal a mcguffin, then we kill Xaldin in Beast's Castle, and that's basically it with Org stuff. And then the revisits for the most part are just even more filler, and often of bad quality.

Yet despite this, so many complained about KH3 Disney stuff, but not so much about 2's?

Many people talking about how op Sora will be if he can use ability and power from all the games he is in. But What about Xehanort if he can use powers from all versions of himself?

The more I think about a Kairi game, the more it seems to make sense and the more I want it (Spoilered for references to Melody of Memory and KHUX finale)

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 10:49 AM PDT

I know the prospect is contentious given her present lack of development and Nomura's track record with the girl characters, and trust me I know it'd be easy to mess up, but based on the indications of where things are going in this series and some of my own predictions, I think it'd work on multiple levels. Here's my main thoughts, some of them based on others' posts here and some that I've written before on my tumblr:

    • From the most recent game Melody of Memory, Kairi's growth as a Keyblade wielder as well as her personal history are becoming more relevant to the series
    • Sora and Riku are both currently absent, and basically everyone else is too powerful now to convincingly start a game from Level 1 unless we get a diabolus ex machina depowering someone. Kairi's training would feel a lot more real and worthwhile if we actually played as her and gained levels over the course of an adventure
    • This may sound strange at first but bear with me, I think a recompleted Lauriam and Elrena should be her party members. She's training with Aqua, so these two would have the Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion connection. Since Ventus is there too, it would bring them into proximity with him to help recover all their memories. They'd be just coming back and haven't wielded Keyblades in a long time, so they'd also realistically start from Level 1 and need training too. Kairi would probably remind them of Strelitzia as well, prompting searches for a way to bring her back. It'd also just be a way for them to show everyone else that they're much better people now than when they were in the Organization
    • Alternately, I can see another BBS-style game where each of them has a playable story that links up with the others' at specific points. And if it uses the Command Deck system, they could each get some really unique, interesting, and fun spell and attack commands
    • I can see the search for everyone's memories and reviving Strelitzia leading them to join up with Mickey's investigation of Scala. This could also give a chance for solving some of the mysteries set up by the KHUX finale, as well as possibly hinting at future moves from the MoM/Foretellers/Luxu/Darknesses (a year in this universe seems a long time for nothing notably cataclysmic to happen okay)
    • (In all honesty I like the "Kairi investigates Scala" concept in part because of the idea Damo279 floated in his KHUX/DR summary playlist that her grandmother may have been a wielder who studied there. I know a lot of his speculations when making that series have ended up being incorrect, but the personal connection here would be a really cool point)
    • Mainly I just really enjoy the thought of Kairi interacting more with other characters, uncovering the in-series historical mysteries, and having her own adventure related to the next phase being set up and the new villains because it would serve really well to take the focus of her character off of Sora and flesh her out as a person

I know this is part prediction based on legitimate plot threads and part just things I would want out of a new game, but what do y'all think? What would you want to see in a game with this kind of gameplay and story basis?

Melody of Memory shouldn’t be overlooked!

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 10:02 AM PDT

Maybe I'm a little late on this but wanted to talk about this game a bit.

So I got it on sale at Walmart for Switch when it was $20. I, like many others, thought a full $60 was pretty steep to pay for a spin off rhythm game for the series, providing little more to the franchise than a fairly extensive mini game rooted in nostalgia. And yes, I did play the demo.

I'm happy to say, in my personal opinion, I was wrong! I'm sure some of it has to do with my own bias- I've listened to the soundtrack of these games for many years, even in my car, in my headphones on walks, playing others games, etc. I think most of us can agree Kingdom Hearts has some fantastic music, I believe Yoko Shimomura is an absolute genius. Also love all the Utada Hikaru songs too, both in Japanese and in English, and the piano collections (which some songs from those are in the game too.) Have a love for classical music playing instruments growing up and the like.

And maybe this is an awakening for me to rhythm games, since I've never really gotten into one. I know not everybody may like them. But this game really does feel like a love letter to the franchise and I'm having tons of fun with it. I haven't even really gotten into the online multiplayer or co-op (nobody to play with :() yet. If you like collectibles it's great for that.

If you're on the edge about it and love the music of the series, I suggest you take the plunge. I don't see a lot of positivity about the game around and wanted to express mine. Cheers.

Birth by sleep Epic games graphical issues

    Posted: 03 Jul 2021 12:42 AM PDT

So, i got the kh 1.5 and 2.5 bundle via epic games and have encountered problems. I use an Acer Nitro 5 Laptop I purchased in October of 2019 (kh1 is perfectly bug free but kh2 sometimes crashes with no warning but hasn't happened at all or is very spaced out) but i think birth by sleep has the most amount of issues. first, when i pause, 8/10 times. the textures get all messed up for a split second. And by the mark of mastery section, the game stutters quite a bit (it's not unplayable but is still quite annoying). Also I don't "computer" well, so I'm not too well versed in computer speak. Thank you for reading!
