Just saw this on Twitter and got so many flashbacks of post vanilla KH2 era before we knew Wayfinder Trio faces or names and MX was just a completely different silhouette in the ending of the secret movie

The Keyblade Graveyard is a terrible end world and one of KH3's cons.

    Posted: 03 Sep 2021 09:48 AM PDT

In KH1 you go to the "End of the World". It's this dark, atmospheric place where the further you venture in the more creepy it gets. The music, the tone of the world and the environments all blend into this really good end dungeon that fits the final boss.

In KH2 you have The World that Never Was. A neon city that feels empty and damp. Lost, only to adventure into this technologically advanced mega castle with multiple boss rooms and story beats that continue to the top as you ascend to the final battle.

In KH3 you go to a 2 room sand land with corridors to boss battles. You don't explore this landscape and then you ge thrust into what WOULD have been a better final world but it last 2 seconds before boss.

I already know what people are going to say so I am going to nip it in the bud right now. Scalla Ad Caelem is NOT the final world because it's in RE:MIND. That's DLC, and therefor does not count because it is not in the base game. Not everyone has the luxury to whip out MORE money to pay for 15 minutes of end game dungeon that wasn't in vanilla.

There' no build up in the graveyard. It's just one corridor before loooong cutscenes to which you go beat up the badguys after empty corridors and then you add the fact that we've already been here before in KHBBS and in that game there was tornadoes of giant unversed and you saw more of the landscape in which there were craters and destruction in the distance.

How it feels to unlock high jump in Kingdom Hearts

I never realized how Poorly Aqua was treated in birth by sleep until now.

    Posted: 03 Sep 2021 09:50 PM PDT

I know the post Contents for Aqua like the secret episode and 0.2 and kingdom hearts 3 did wonders to her character, and made her one of the best characters in the series, top 5 for sure. but in birth by sleep (after doing some research and replying the game) I kinda realized out of the three main character she wasn't given the proper treatment she deserved, her involvement in story felt weak, Imo she got the short end of the stick. And I just hate that canonically she must be played last because she keeps arriving last to most of the worlds (but it's understandable why, cause she ties loose ends in most worlds which is awesome). When I finally started Aqua's playthrough, I just felt like visiting the worlds again for the third time was repetitive and not unique anymore, since Aqua didn't really have a unique section exclusive just for her in the worlds she visits like Terra and Ventus. Maybe it's just my opinion but I think Aqua wasn't treated properly in bbs (not until post birth by sleep at least.)

    • she doesn't get involved in the main plot (at least not until the end)

    • not much character development (at least not until 0.2)

    • her connection with The main villain is the weakest out of the Wayfinder trio (though her connection with Xehanort does eventually get stronger in 0.2 after she finds out that terra didn't really fall to darkness, but instead he was actually possessed by Xehanort)

    • She has no real Nemesis of her own (luckily in 0.2 she does get a Nemesis, an Evil phantom mirror of herself)

    • half of her bosses aren't original, they are mostly rehashed bosses you already fought with terra and Ventus (though in my opinion, some of her bosses are the coolest in the game)

    1. Magic Mirror > Fought with Terra
    2. Zack > Fought with Terra
    3. Braig > Fought with Terra
    4. Vanitas > Fought with Ventus (twice)
    5. Vanitas X-Blade > Fought with Ventus
    6. Terranort > Fought with Terra

After you finish all their stories you'll unlock the Final Episode, and She does get some nice moments in the final episode, but quick question, did We really need another Terranort boss fight? The story seemed like it was wrapped up, because Ansem the wise and braig will eventually come and pick Terranort up whether we fight him or not. Nomura even admitted in one of his old interviews (long ago) that the final episode wasn't intended to be part of the original game and was added later during the development, meaning Aqua story originally was gonna end in the keyblade graveyard just like her friends, while terranort still gets sent to radiant garden due to the explosion caused by both Aqua and Ventus destroying the the X-blade. Though I understand the motive of Aqua vs Terranort, they wanted us to feel hope with Aqua trying to save her friend, and that's noble of her. But still...it feels like the purpose of this fight is just for Aqua to Fail in saving Terra and then to just gets trapped in the realm of darkness. since all three of the trio have no more purpose or role to play after the final battle in the keyblade graveyard.

but overall I really appreciate her journey in the realm of darkness, the secret episode and 0.2 it managed to fix her problems and make her a much better character, I loved the game soo much, if only it was longer... but right now I think she's a much better character going forward to kh3 and the next saga.

Does anyone want more extra battles/bosses ?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2021 08:25 PM PDT

on KH2 and KH1 one of my favourite thing to do are the data battles, olympus tournaments, and the secret bosses like sephiroth and lingering will and going forward it would be cool if they would add more stuff like this, maybe you could fight ventus, terra and aqua on the land of departure, fight roxas, xion and axel on twilight town, and fight sora/riku/kairi (depending on who the main chara is) on destiny island and things like that, basically just more super hard extra battle that you could do to get items or maybe even keyblade
