    Sora kept his promise to Tia Dalma

    Innately, the kingdom hearts series has focused heavy on thematic overtones while enticing the player and almost teasing( or confusing if you're me)them with how symbolic the game can be.

    Hearts but not really your beating "heart".

    Darkness but not really "darkness".

    For a long time in the series Sora had no character direction, your a boy from an island just blindly moving forward to find your friends and helping as many people as you can along the way. This makes the Disney worlds extremely nuanced, causing fans to view them as unnecessary or filler.

    Until KH3!

    KH3 mastered the utilization of the Disney worlds for Soras character development perfectly! Starts in OC with a damsel in distress not wanting to be saved by you and ends with everyone in Big Hero 6 being on your key blade trying to become better heroes from watching you. We've been playing as a little boy influenced by others for awhile, it's time for him to grow up and that's exactly what KH3 is.

    It's a great read and really touches on how everything you did in the Disney worlds is shaping Soras character for endgame and believing in himself to use the power of waking. There's even a Gummi Gram post during the load screen where Donald comments on how mature sora has become during end game.

    This coming of age theme is the same in "The Caribbean"

    A lot of people where disappointed by the fact Tia Dalma asked Sora to save her for power in return but Sora kinda never did, right? Wrong!

    Let's start at the beginning when the gang learns of the conflict taking place in the world. They learn of Davy Jones, Beckett, and Donald for the first time says "The sea belongs to everyone". This is extremely important and not the last time that phrase is triumphantly uttered.

    Let's put a pin on this and look at what Tia Dalma actually said to Sora

    "Use that key to free me, Sora, and you have my most certain promise— all the power of the sea you ever wish for be yours."

    After this is said to Sora he jumps into action and fights Air Ravager, I believe Tia is impressed and intrigued with Sora as she sees the power within him but Sora is still very codependent and leads him to Leviathan via white crab Jack.

    After beating Luxord and upgrading the ship she asks Sora why he wanted the ship and denotes after his answer, that he has become a true pirate and she leaves his side after challenging his resolve by stating what's going on in shipwreck cove was a fight for pirates but not Sora.

    Almost goading him , when he arrives everyone's morale is in the gutters, he thinks about what Tia Dalma said to him again and inspires everyone on the ship to not give up and fight, making himself a pirate amongst pirate he exclaims : "The sea is for everyone"

    Just like in the beginning of the world but slightly different, as this was after learning that Tia Dalma is the goddess of the sea.

    The final fight takes place, Davy Jones and Beckett are defeated allowing everyone to sail freely on open waters, the final cutscene is the most important as you see the leviathan explode into many white crabs, the ship was also Tia Dalma.

    Her being the sea personified, wasn't freed until the tyranny of Davy Jones and Beckett was over as they were trying to conquer it. The ship disappearing after their defeat signifies her part of the bargain as being over as Sora became the strongest pirate in the world and rallied everyone to finish the fight and give possession of the sea back to everyone.

    This world was extremely important for Soras development and set the stage perfectly for Big Hero 6.

    Tldr: Davy & Beckett were ruling the sea, Tia Dalma was the sea personified, she gave Sora the Leviathan to find strength and beat the baddies and it disappears after he's won, Tia to never be seen again. Thus both sides of the promise being fulfilled.

    TLDR: the sea belongs to everyone!
