Ever since Sora got into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate I think Aqua and DiZ have noticed he's been a little too trigger happy sending his foes to the Realm of Darkness with his Final Smash =P (art by me, MadtazAnimation on twitter)

Why Does This Sub Love KH2 So Much?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 03:41 PM PDT

I liked KH1's adventuring. In that there was more to do than plow through heartless and take in scenery before going to the next section. Treasure chests were rewarding. I liked the simple art style better than KH2's, though the quality of KH2's art design was better.

KH1's heartless actually looked like they were made of darkness, whereas a lot of KH2's heartless were shrouded in armor, or looked too much like robots, and thus reminded me too much of generic video game baddies, and I didn't get the feeling I was facing the forces of darkness. KH2's lesser nobody designs were cool.

Boss fights felt overly scripted in KH2, didn't allow you to take advantage of the environment unless it was superficially through the reaction commands. KH1 boss fights were better in that you had to actually use platforming skillz and strategy to get around your enemies. KH2 did have driveforms, which were fun. KH1 had better magic. NPCs were more useful in KH1, i think.

Story was better in KH1, in my opinion. It may have been cliched, but it was in a game built on the codifiers of such cliches, and as such didn't feel out of place. A simple quest to find your friends. Plus, it did have some complications and twists, chief among them that Sora wasn't a destined hero--really earned my respect in subverting that one.

All in all, I liked KH1 better.

If you could fight one Marvel character as a secret boss in KH4, who and why?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 03:31 AM PDT

I think for me it's either Captain America or Scarlett Witch. Wanda's power set could make for a pretty intimidating fight, but Cap is definitely my favorite character in the MCU. I just think about trying to dodge his shield as it ricochets around the battlefield, and then hearing "I can do this all day."

Out of curiousity, does Haley Joel Osment actually know the story/play the games?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 08:56 PM PDT

I know some VA's, like David Hayter as Solid Snake, really enjoy their roles and are actually pretty into the series as a whole. Meanwhile, other VA's, like Steve Blum as Tank Dempsey, only see their role as another job and don't really care about the story they are telling.

I only ask this, because I really like the image of Haley Joel Osment going into the studio, shouting about friendship, darkness, and Donald and Goofy. Yet having no idea what he is actually talking about.
