    Just finished Kingdom Hearts 1 (1.5 remix) for the first time, my thoughts so far if anyone is interested in a newcomers experience.

    First of all, just a great game. My brother recently finished 3 after having played through them all and he told me that 1 sucks. He was wrong.

    I loved the gameplay, I chose the mage/shield stat build at the start and mostly used magic until about 3/4 of the way through the game when it seemed to stop being as effective. By the time I got the ultima blade it was basically all I needed, that keyblade is OP.

    Story, was pretty good especially for a game that came out in 2002 I think? Voice acting was especially great with most of the Disney cast actually being their OG voice actors. Loved it. Especially once you get to Hallow Bastion the story was awesome. Not sure how I feel about Riku, my brother said he only did everything bad because of darkness taking over. But at the start of the game he kind of seemed like a dick assumedly before he was taken over by darkness. I just kind of feel like he's a douche but IDK. Love the dynamic of Sora Donald and Goofy, great pals (especially Goofy) with some funny moments.

    Worlds, were pretty cool. My favorites were probably Neverland, Atlantica, Hallow Bastion, and Wonderland. Halloweentown is a good one too but wasn't my favorite. Jungle is probably my least favorite, sorry Tarzan.

    Gummy ship system is stupid. As soon as I could warp everywhere that's all I did.

    Bosses were great, sadly by the end of the game I was becoming overpowered and the end game bosses were almost too easy. I was playing on normal, almost think I should've played on proud mode. Least favorite boss was by far the 2nd form of Oogie Boogie. I fell so many damn times climbing up to hit those darkness spots, it was dumb. Favorite boss was probably between Malificents first form, the 2nd Riku fight in Hallow Bastion, or maaaaybe Captain Hook. I hear people talk about the Sephiroth fight(s) in these games, he was hard but also wasn't. The "hardest" part of his fight is that BS move that knocks you to 1 HP and no MP. It felt more like a cheap gimmick fight due to that than anything else honestly, felt like them trying make him hard but a lot of JRPGs do this sort of thing so oh well.

    Playing through Chain of Memories quickly and then looking forward to playing KH2!

    Why is KH2 combat considered the best in the series?

    Is it nostalgia? when I was a kid I thought KH2 was the best game in the world, now Imo KH2 is just okay. 2FM data org fights are mostly just gimmicks, Lingering Will and Sephiroth are the only good fights that don't rely on gimmicks(and imo KH1 Sephiroth and Yozora are both better than any boss in KH2)
