KH 1.5 + 2.5 PC "Stuttering" fix + Cutscene Framerate fix Posted: I have addressed this issue in other posts, however, for SEO purposes, I thought it would make sense to create a post for this to help as many people as possible. For those of you who are playing KH 1.5 + 2.5 games on PC at framerates above 60 fps, you might have noticed some inconsistent stutters. For me, as soon as I booted the game, I noticed my framerate would sometimes tank from nearly 1000 fps to 60 in KH2. It turns out, there is some odd behavior that limits the framerate. This is not a bug, from looking at this disassembly of this in KH2, this is very clearly intentional behavior. That being said, I am not sure why the developers thought they could rip nearly 90% of my framerate from me, and I wouldn't notice. Because of this, I decided I couldn't progress any further without fixing it. ts;dr I fixed it (currently only in KH2.) I haven't gone through the effort of fully tracking the behavior, so I can't accurately describe the intent or why this happens at the moment. If this behavior gets patched before I figure it out, I'd love to see an explanation from the SQ programmers. Additionally, with help from u/TopazTK, we also fixed the behavior during cutscenes which would limit your framerate to 30 fps. Do note that this causes the 30 fps option to limit your framerate to 60: the 30 fps option seems to be an afterthought and is implemented through what seems to be a tl;drThe Patch (KH2): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/565971398539870273/827066425448726548/KINGDOM_HEARTS_II_FINAL_MIX.bps what the KH2 patch does, for nerds: Fix FPS Limiterat becomes Nops the code that updates the variable on the render settings structure that is responsible for limiting the framerate to 60. Stop Cutscene Framelimiter (Thanks to u/TopazTK for finding this)at becomes Nops the code that toggles the 30 fps limit. This also breaks 30 fps mode. Allow Cutscene Framelimit to be Unlockedat becomes Zeroes the first argument in the call that updates the framelimiter variables Fixing this kinda stuff makes me want to get into game porting/remastering. I'm sure the source-level issues are super interesting. Common Questions

Kingdom Hearts Pc Crashes on Game Saving Posted: I just bought the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD Collection on Epic. But every time i try saving the game in Kingdom Hearts 1 (on either the tutorial save-point or the Destiny Island Save-Point) my Game crashes and shuts down whilst saving my game. It takes some seconds, the sound shuts off and the game closes itself. After i reload the game, i cant access any save data on Load game because of "corrupted save data". I also cant save the game cause of the same error message. When i delete the save-folder created in Documents, i can access the loading option normally but still get the same error after i try saving the game at any point in the story. I have disabled my Antivirus and firewall already, as well as reinstalled the game from Epic. Does someone have an idea why this problem occurs? [link] [comments]

"Verum Rex" is going to be a Virtual Reality game. [Spoilers for 3 and MoM] Posted: I just had this thought while someone was talking about Kingdom Hearts. Consider how Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance can be abbreviated as Kingdom Hearts 3D, as in the 3Ds, and the stereoscopic 3d of the system. Now, Verum Rex. If the game is called "Kingdom Hearts: Verum Rex," It can be reduced to "KHVR." Now, that's not everything, right, but when we fight Yozora, everything looks all digital right? and Quadratum is in a world of "unreality" or fiction. - aka "Virtual" reality. I think that whatever game takes place in Quadratum may be a Virtual Reality title. what do you think? [link] [comments]

Posted: So excitedly, i bought kingdom hearts 3 yesterday for PC. I'd been waiting for this for a rather long time, you see. Unfortunately, there are 2 issues that are reoccuring. The first being that i get horrendous stuttering when in menu screens, but the rest of the gameplay is perfectly fine. The second are the crashes, which come up as Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. Most fix signs point to re-installation of video card drivers- unfortunately, i'd just updated my Nvidia drivers today. I can only surmise that something such as FXAA or the like that's handled globally by Nvidia could be tbe culprit, but as of yet I am unsure. Turning on and off FXAA within the game settings has produced no viable results. I have also tried using administrator mode, but epic games fails to launch when the main executable is designated as such. Compatability mode fails to see any answers as well, being a hail mary to the whole situation. If anyone has any ideas or more information on the situation, such as a fix or an upcoming patch, please let me know. Thank you. I've waited quite some time since the release of kingdom hearts II now to finish this series, it would be a shame to lose it now when it's so close to my grasp. [link] [comments]
