    KH fans are SO picky

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 11:24 AM PDT

It's crazy how picky fans of the series are. I can get story complaints, especially involving later games in the series, among other small things, but I don't think I've ever seen a fandom nit pick and rip apart so many different high quality games as much as this one.

Like, KH3 for example. It's a punching bag for so many people, but why? Story as I mentioned is one reason and then there's... Well from there it's an absolute mess of everyone having a drastically different, niche problem. "The Gummi mission is open world now? Oh my god ruined." "Wtf the characters don't walk in the menu? My immersion is broken!" "Why are there minigames in this? In MY Kingdom Hearts game? That's it, I'm going back to playing KH2!"

This doesn't just apply to KH3 either. Dream Drop Distance, BBS, Chain of Memories, 358, Re:Coded. Heck, even KH2 gets torn apart by those who prefer other games in the series.

It's so weird because, the graphical quality of even the least popular games in the series, like Re:Coded, are phenomenal for the limitations they were under. Even up to the 3DS era, the style didn't change whatsoever because they nailed it first try. And while Chain of Memories difficult and hard to get used to for some, it's got such a well designed battle system. The games between KH2 and KH3, while they don't have KH2's gameplay, are still fun in their own ways. And KH3 does a lot people like too.

It's so strange to me. This series is genuinely impressive, and people have found the weirdest reasons to hate each individual game, lmao. There are franchises like Crash Bandicoot that are lucky to even get an *okay* game in a sea of garbage, but KH games on average get more hate than even the worst of those games.

Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Just got Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 01:21 PM PDT

This is probably gonna sound crazy, but I was around seven years old when I somehow stumbled upon Kingdom Hearts 1 gameplay videos as a child. Without English being my native language, it was hard to grasp anything regarding the plot, but the idea of having my favourite stories and characters all in one place, by my side, as a player, felt amazing.

Kingdom Hearts was the only game I knew a lot... and nothing. I knew the order in which the games came out, I knew the main cast (ish) BUT I didn't know anything about the plot or how the gameplay itself feels, for I have never played any of them.

    ... Until now, that is.

Having grown up with an Xbox, Kingdom Hearts and me playing it was just a childhood dream I got to stick with me through the majority of my teenager years, however, I happened to stumble upon the Xbox Game Store randomly only to find that they did it, they ported the whole franchise! I was amazed.

I got the bundle for a great deal, 9.99 pounds, jumped right into it. And BOY.

First off, I am playing on normal, and still, the game seems not impossible, but challenging, rather difficult. We are not talking of a challenging aspect that is close to frustration, no, but it keeps me engaged nevertheless. I expected the game to be just a button-mash grindy-RPG, but it is more than that. Furthermore, I really like the way the game plays and expands itself with the theme of light-darkness, I like the undertones of how if one steps into the light, he too has a higher chance of reaching that darkness, it's a very interesting aspect.

I'm like 6 hours in and I have just now managed to reach the Deep Jungle with dear ole' Tarzan. Nevertheless, I am impressed, I'm glad to finally be able to enjoy these games.

TL;DR: Playing Kingdom Hearts 1 after having wished to do so for well over 10 years, finally did it.

    Drive Forms or Formchanges?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 07:26 PM PDT

What do you prefer as a gameplay mechanic?

I like Formchanges more as shows the true power of the keyblade and makes you understand why many villains desire it. It's awesome seeing the keyblade transform into different weapons

Dumb question but which version of MX did we defeat in KH3? Is that MX time travelled from BBS, or is he recombined Ansem SoD and Xemnas, somehow looking old instead of looking like Terranort?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 06:36 PM PDT

I mean like in Xehanort POV, what is going on?

So he was YX and then time travelled to DDD, then to KH3, then back to his own time and live out the days. He is then old and passes his heart to Terra in BBS, does he time travel to the future at that point, or does he just possess Terra? And the Terranort in KH3, is that time travelled researcher Terranort or is that recombined Ansem SoD and Xemnas?

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Gummi Ship Mission

    Posted: 04 Aug 2021 07:14 PM PDT

I am trying to fully complete kingdom hearts final mix and get every trophy. To do so, I have to get every gummi ship design which means I have to complete every gummi ship mission (fml). For certain missions, it'll say "Set off from Olympus Coliseum" for example for mission 2 of traverse town. What specifically does that mean? Set off from a different world than intended? Do I need to use warp holes because I don't think there are any on that path.
